Maybe it is time for the Libertarian party to step up with a solid candidate, with money.

What little I know about the Libertarian party suggests that it is highly unlikely to field a serious candidate with money. To my knowledge, most self-identified Libertarians end up voting for the mainstream Republicans anyway (low taxes > other forms of liberty).

It's more likely that self-financed independents would emerge, à la Ross Perot.

Of course, I know next to nothing about Texas politics.

I really had no idea that FTers could be such a$$hats. There is some rather serious vitriol in my little rant thread that makes me question just who it is that populates this community...and how far up their intestinal tract their obstructions are.

Are you surprised? To be fair, the rant is similar enough to other stuff we've all heard a million times before that I can see how the intended humor escaped respondents. Perhaps if you had demanded a gazillion miles as compensation the humor would have been clearer. It does seem that the main forum is rather ill-tempered lately, however.

Hello Box! How I've missed you during my vacation in New Zealand! I'm very sad that in a matter of days I'll probably lose my newly acquired summer tan to the rainy weather and lack of sunshine that is SF.

If you think that is bad, you need to spend more time on the AA forum. I mostly stay away now.

I got my box of junk just before the AUS Do and have not had a chance until now to go through it. I found the parts to make a USB hub (mostly already assembled) and a few other odds and ends. I think I'm throwing in an old video card and a design PCB that I was working on shortly before I was unceremoniously asked to vacate my job right after we moved to Austin.

Being a nerd is cool.
