Yes, that sucks, but....

Provided your new place is reasonably close to your apartment, keep stuff in the apartment and move slowly over the course of several weekends.

Or, use the apartment as a living area while you clean, paint, re-do the new place.

Thankfully there is no painting to do, and the cleaning can be done in the course of a single afternoon. The new place is really move-in ready. Most of the stuff I need to do is minor, changing locks, replacing a toilet, new light bulbs, etc.

Currently waiting on the high sign from the lender that we can close today.

I hate waiting.

Can you sub-let your place for 45 days? Maybe a decent option if you can.

Yes, I think that is what they all say....until they start breaking tiles, stripping screws, opening up walls. ;)

Not really. If they are able to find someone that wants to rent our place we can get out early, but that's a big if. Luckily rent is cheap enough that it isn't the end of the world, but it does suck.

I would say lots of :rolleyes::rolleyes:. The weather report says the worst should come around noon time. Good luck.

UA issued a travel waiver for SFO.

A fix, repair, change-out, etc, always seems "minor" until you actually start doing it, and then, lo and behold, what seemed like a minor undertaking suddenly becomes a day or week long affair involving power tools that you never even knew existed.

I made a crazy WAG yesterday.

In the period of a week, I had:

* Made 10% on a long position in oil.
* Simultaneously made 15% double-shorting oil. :confused:

Sold off much of the long position (in an IRA anyway) and shorted more oil (in my taxable account) ^

Oh, well, yes, that is how things always go for me. See the earlier post about a simple memory upgrade for my work laptop. :)

In that case, perhaps you should plan to stay in ya'll's apartment for a while after the closing, eh? :D

I lived in an executive apartment in Reston, VA - I got out from paying the full termination payment because I had the most sought after layout at the time (1 bedroom with a locked-off study big enough to be used as a bedroom).

Indeed, and thankfully I have several new choices in that department.

I would be prepping already but I'm sitting in my car so as to charge my phone...can't find my AC charger.
