Just got back from the gym. Nothing left to do tonight but figure out supper, cook it, have a drink, and  around.

Hope everyone's weekend is treating them well and the PRG contingency is staying out of .

when I was in the US Scareways club last week in CLT, I was checking-in at around 8pm-ish and a guy walked in behind me and asked if AMEX was accepted. The lounge dragon said No. He asked how much it was to just spend an hour there as his flight was leaving in just over an hour. She told him $40. He thought a bit, and said "that's a bit too much for me to pay for just an hour, maybe I'll skip it".

So, I said, "can I guest him in?". She looked at me scornfully and said "sure, if you want to pay the $40". Naturally, I declined, apologized to the guy that I couldn't guest him in, and then went to sit down.

As I passed by the desk a few minutes later on the way to getting a cup of tea, the lounge dragon said "you know, you can guest someone in, but I know he wasn't really your guest, so I wasn't going to allow it".

I replied: "well, I was just trying to do a good deed for the day, and pay forward all the good deeds that have happened to me in the past, and it was only for an hour or so, so it wasn't a big deal" (very politely said, I might add)

to which she replied:

"a good deed for you maybe, but we're running a business here, and I'm not going to allow things like that to happen".

I  and went and sat back down.

do you like the Droid? I'm thinking of switching to it from my Treo. I hate the Treo, and I really, really want the IPhone, but we're on Verizon, so Is Not Possible. I'm seriously considering the Droid.

So let the kicker prove his greatness.

Sorry, but I'm not buying your argument. Once the coach says "go for it" I agree that the 11 guys on the field absolutely should do so, but that doesn't mean that deciding to go for it at that point and under those circumstances was an appropriate or classy thing to do. I'm not suggesting that they only play second team guys the whole second half or something drastic. But with the ball on the 30 going for the end zone on 4th down with 2 minutes to play and up 24 points is bad form.

Grandma's 75th birthday bash went off without a hitch. :D

^^

and I bet if you asked Grandma, she would say that although she is chronologically 75, she doesn't feel a day over 25 in her mind ...

Maybe they lost ALCO again. Or did ALCO lose himself when he found the end of More?

They are all still alive. ^

Jamaica - depending on the neighborhood - is essentially suburbia with the bonus of NYC taxes.

And I definitely prefer the city to the 'burbs.
