If using the one that plugs in to your computer you must have the drivers installed or it won't actually charge even though it is plugged in. It is a very  thing that BB does.

Thanks for the tip. Never had to charge it that way, but have the cord. Now to check drivers.

Although IIRC, they're just doing it to comply with the USB standards for power supply. Apparently, the port is only supposed to supply 125 mA until some kind of negotiation takes place, then it'll kick up to 500 mA.

The iPhone 3G is similar - it won't charge with some generic USB power adapters because they don't have the data pins hooked up. In the case of the iPhone, you can fake it by putting a couple of volts on the data pins. I took a generic USB car charger and soldered in 2 resistors with the right ohms, and I was golden. $0.10 of parts and 5 minutes of soldering.

Apparently the graduate program I am applying to is the only one the university offers that is barred from the graduate assistantship program.

Are you applying for a professional or academic program? I ask only because most professional programs are barred from such things.

Either way that sucks.

It's an M.Ed. known by a different name. The profession of academics.

I'm going to need a full report on the festivities. It sounds like something we may want to do if the breweries are fun. :-:

Yesterday was fun until we got lost in the Bronx on the way home.
It was an easy hike. They only planned on us doing 3.5 miles, but luckily we had a good group and did about 4.5 in the same time frame. Weather was perfect too! ^

You're in my 'hood. Doing the brewery in Suffern, Pearl River or both?

We did Defiant in Pearl River and Capt. Lawrence in Pleasantville. I much prefer Captain Lawrence's beer (Espresso Stout...mmm!) but Defiant's tasting room was larger, better atmosphere.

Here's something that'll get your day off to a, well, some kind of start.

Cute, thanks! Love the fake-tan faces.

I've been very lucky so I shouldn't complain. My parents picked up my AA degree, the Air Force picked up all but $1500 of my BA, and the VA is picking up 50% of M.Ed. should I get admitted. I still have to go thru the FAFSA process and the goal is to cut down my personal exposure as much as possible.

Morning box. Dealing with UA/SkyWest irrops at BUR and agents that are pretty clueless about everything is incredibly

Luckily have found a generous soul here in the PC (IAH E) who is letting me use his adapter to charge up my BB for 10 min. before he has to go catch his flight!^ Note to self -- never pack charger in checked bags!

OMG! -- he just gave me his micro USB cord (the one that plugs into my computer USB!:-:^ Wow -- good karma abounds!^

I tend to find Hyatt beds comfortable. I do the grapefruit slices, raisin bran, sometimes oatmeal, and much coffee. On the micro-USB cord - the other thing I notice is that a sleeping laptop doesn't charge the phone (whether I have the Blackberry app up or not).

Sadly it's on a CRJ-100 up to SFO

Currently doing BUR-SFO-DEN-MSP now. Fortunately the agent rebooked me into full F/Y for these flights from an award ticket, so I'm now earning my first CO EQMs of the year :-:

mersk862 Jan 17, 2010 12:10 pm

BTW...BUR music selection in the terminal this morning is a bit ...nonstop hair bands from the 80s for the past 45 minutes.
