I've only had it a week and, so far, I really like it. I'm used to carrying a Blackberry for work, but this my first personal 'smart phone'. There are a ton of apps out there for it and I'm managing to entertain myself with all the free ones.

I'd say the only down side I'm finding to it is the battery life. My BB would go for days before I'd have to recharge it. The Droid, with all its features really drains the battery quickly. I've shut the GPS & WiFi off(easily toggled on/off) since 3G is taking care of everything I need so far. The GPS and available apps for it are cool, I just don't need them on a daily basis. The Droid also fails to close apps when you exit them, so I loaded an app that will 'kill' them - also to save the battery a bit. I still wouldn't try traveling a couple days without the power cord.

Hello all
Just got back from TPA where I worked all wkend. Just had enough time to buy Mrs Radonc1 a bday card (#59 but I'm not bringing it up) and then it's to Flemings for her dinner. And then to bed and back to work on Monday.

BTW, I'm in Shreveport next Monday. Is there anything there worth looking at and open Sunday? Thanks

How can you be certain if they leave tomorrow?

They used the OLCI today. First flight is at 6 am. They were thinking to show up direct at the airport. ;)

I got the Droid a couple of weeks ago. I never use the keyboard. It took me some time to get used to the touch screen keyboard. With all the apps and everything else it has on it, I can deal with the touch screen.

I really want something that will allow me to quickly access the web and has a good viewing screen.

I don't play a lot with apps, so that's not too important to me. What is important is the ability to get on the web quickly and be able to navigate easily and have a bright, easy to read screen.

I will have to take her word for it.......its not good to argue with crazy people.....and if US Scareways think for a minute that they are a 'business' they better show profits OCASIONALLY :D

poor battery life would drive me nuts. But, this is coming from someone who thinks batteries should last years, not hours! So, my expectations are totally ludicrous!

... I was going to add the caveat - except for JFK - but I wasn't sure it was actually in Jamaica, so I left it out :D:D

Yes, I've found the touch screen keyboard a whole lot easier to use and a lot more accurate for me than the iTouch(iPhone) screen keyboard. I really hated trying to type on that. With the Droid, I don't really even feel a need to slide out the hard keyboard.

Besides JFK, the only other time I've been in Jamaica Queens was to go to a meeting at JetBlue's run down headquarters.

Great screen and up here, for me, 3G has been as responsive as I'd hoped.

One more thing, the power cable, unfortunately, isn't the standard USB cable, but I believe you'll have the same issue with an iPhone(at least I do with my iTouch.) I was hoping to consolidate cables.

I don't see how "they checked in" and "they are going straight to airport" makes the likelihood of needing bail money non-existent ;)

I do as well, hence I might get stuck with a new Blackberry.
