Moderator caution: Referral offers -or- links are NOT permitted in any thread in the Chase forum. Instead, see: Credit card referral offers (post only in this thread, read Wikipost first Please do not post ANY application links in the Wikipost or thread, even if you think they are not referral links. If you think there is an extraordinary circumstance where the link is difficult to find elsewhere, consult with a moderator before posting.

What is the best current offer?
A. Beginning April 14, 2022, the public offer has been increased to 80,000 Bonus Points After You Spend $4,000 On Purchases In The First 3 Months From Account Opening. Annual fee [$95] is not waived. This offer is now publicly available. Based on some datapoints, it may be possible to get this offer at your local Chase branch with a one year waiver of the annual fee.

For any CSP offer, be sure to check the pricing details before applying. Normally, the annual fee for the CSP for year 2 and later is $95; however, in mid-2014 and then again more recently, Chase began randomly changing the pricing for some visits to the pages above, with AF as high as $150. If you get a page with that higher pricing, try reloading the page.

Q. Can I apply for this card and earn the bonus after doing so previously?

A. This card is subject to the Chase 5/24 policy. For details, see the wiki and related discussion in Applying for Chase Credit Cards, 2017 onward.

As of August 2018, all Chase Sapphire cards are subject to an additional restriction:
The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months.
See Sapphire (CSR & CSP) 48 months between bonuses, August 2018 for details and ongoing discussion.

Q. I'm an authorized user for a card issued to my spouse/parent. Does that prevent me from signing up for the same card and earning a bonus?

A. No, being an authorized user does not prevent you from obtaining your own card / bonus.

Q. I just met the spend requirement. When will I receive my signup bonus points?

A. In most cases, your bonus will be credited after the close of the monthly billing cycle in which you meet the spend requirement. (Chase never posts signup bonuses mid-cycle.)

However, owing to a quirk in Chase's system, bonuses associated with charges incurred in the last ~7 days of a billing period may not post until the end of the following billing period. This is true even if the charges appear on your current statement and generate the standard number of points per dollar spent.

Thus, if you meet your bonus spend threshold late in your billing cycle, you may not receive the corresponding signup bonus until the following month. Calling Chase to complain will not change this, so be patient and enjoy your points when they finally appear.

Q. What's the value of a UR point? What are the best redemption options?

A. Because these questions are not specific to the Sapphire Preferred card, see discussion in the following separate threads:
Q. What are the benefits of this card other than UR points?

Benefits Guide https://www.chasebenefits.com/sapphirepreferred

A. See the discussion in Chase Sapphire Preferred Benefits Thread, especially the source documents referenced in the wiki.

Same for me. My referral link still shows 100k points. I hope it stays like that for a week as my wife will drop below 5/24 next week.

The public offer for 100k is still up though Sounds like that's supposed to go away today. So tomorrow is the real test of the referral links. Fingers crossed because I need that to stay alive a few more days to be safe (after downgrading CSR to FF on 10/5)!

Just left branch, and the new accounts specialist advised 10/8 is the end of the web applications, but the verbiage still shows in branch will honor applications at the 100k. No specific end date mentioned.

I will downgrade CSR to CFU today and hope 4 biz days later I can do this in branch. *Fingers crossed*

Public site now appears to be showing 60k, but referral link from a family member still shows 100k. Worth doing a product change now and still try to get in with the referral deal? Are there any data points on how long referral links have kept an old offer?

Well A, the public link is already down to 60k points and B, you can't do a PC and then apply in branch in 4 days. From what I understand, more like 30 days (or maybe until your statement closes) to apply in branch. But see below:

Yep, I noticed that too. Thankfully the referral links still work! I don't know how long, but hopefully they will for awhile. I'm planning to apply on Sunday or Monday to be save (I downgraded to Freedom Flex on 10/5). I could probably apply through my referral on Friday, but think I'll wait until Sunday to be safe. Cheers,

Strangely enough, the public site just reverted back to 100k. Not sure what's going on...

Yeah, showing 60k after a few refreshes (guess it was being updated on the site.) Referral link continues to say 100k... I guess I'll wait until tomorrow, if the referral link stays at 100k I'll try the product change. This is quite a big drop on the bonus!

I know with Amex, referral offers historically have stayed around longer than the same public offer, we can only hope the same will apply here. It does appear promising based on what I was told during my in branch visit earlier today. I no longer hold the CSR as I dropped it to a CFU today, and given the minimum 4 business day waiting period, I'm hoping that on Friday next week I'll be good to go, not counting today or Monday (holiday). The in branch terms and conditions did not have an apparent end date, which leads me to hope it'll at least be around for another week. The rep also read it verbiage out loud to me, and it said they expect more in branch applications to take advantage of the 100k since it'll be pulled from the web. For how long, who knows? Let's just hope long enough. If I were you, I'd do the same. Then again, my annual fee hits November 1.

I know 4 business days is the gospel here, but I PC'd one of my household members on Monday and after seeing several DP's of people getting approved successfully after 2 days, I decided to try it yesterday (Wed). Application went to pending, but after THREE HOURS of hold time today (no exaggeration), went through some verification questions and was approved. Since the application won't even be processed if you have a Sapphire, it does appear 2 days is sufficient for the online system to "clear" the Sapphire association.

I called in yesterday because my application was still pending and had to move some credit around in order to be approved. It had been more than a week since I had PC'd my CSR to a Freedom Flex, but for some reason it was still showing as needing a credit limit of 20k. Does anybody know how long that requirement sticks around for? I would assume maybe the end of the next billing cycle, but I'm really hoping that doesn't still show me as having a Sapphire-family product and ineligible for the bonus.

In response to some earlier posts, the rep said that the card has metal in it and for those they are expedited by default.

Congrats. Curious what you downgraded to? I went to Freedom Flex and trying to get some DPs from people who made the change to the Mastercard.

I'm not sure what you mean - "showing as needing a credit limit of 20k?" I downgraded to Freedom Flex as well, so trying to figure out what you mean.

Downgraded to the old school Freedom (Visa), so there was no change to card number/issuer.

I generated a referral link 4 days ago and this was the language on the page with the link.

Just make sure they use this link to apply so you can earn a bonus. It will expire in 6 months.

Mind you, this language was on the page with the referral code, (NOT the page where the referral linked to a 100k offer).

Personally, I'd say go for it, (worst case scenario is you just PC back up if you can't get the 100k SUB).
