All very well saying, but we had to eat it LOL 😆...

Joking aside, it was ok. Nothing special though. Actually I did like the brownies. My partner said way too sweet however.

But we didn't care about food on Sunday as T5 was a mess, but the CCR was an oasis of calm.

This is not the place for soliciting invitations to lounges, that said guests to the CCR should be travelling on BA.

Daytime menu 28th Feb

Plenty of LPGS on offer, and here is the menu for today (not sure if it changes tomorrow 1st March).

Thanks for posting! So basically, the breakfast bacon chop is now also a rest of the day bacon chop with different sides? I didn't dislike it in principle when I had it for breakfast but it was badly undercooked so I had to leave quite a bit of it. The red cabbage side sounds nice as does the mackerel, but that's still not a particularly exciting menu. Please bring back the scallops, the ribeye, the duck confit, those were all far nicer dishes than what we are having at the moment...

I miss the pasta dishes as I usually have them for starter instead of the rather boring smoked salmon/cured meat on offer...

Sat at the little tables beside the nose cone for breakfast this morning, rather enjoyable with a view of the planes and terminal. Had the eggs Benedict and Mrs B had the maple glazed bacon chop and fried egg both very good and better than we would have had onboard. Terrace furniture starting to look a bit shabby.

Shrinkflation?

Flew out to DXB on Thursday evening and with the pub food now offered in First thought we’d eat in the CCR.

After having enjoyed dinner there every working Monday pre-pandemic, we couldn’t help but be a bit underwhelmed. Menu was OK but everything seemed to have shrunk in size …. one tiny fillet of mackerel, wife’s cauliflower pie was small and mostly crust and the chocolate caramel slice was half the normal size. I know we could have ordered extra dishes if we wanted but it all seemed a little disappointing.

Still the LPGS was good and it was nice and quiet (almost eerily so) at 19.00.

Shame about the gate experience at C57 though with only one queue for everyone (why is it so hard to get back to the old system) but more than redeemed by an excellent crew.

Can anyone advise me about the switch over from breakfast to rest of the day? I have a 11.15 departure--only ever been in the lounge in the later afternoon.

Looks very tender, unlike bacon, more like pork neck! Can't wait to try it.
