Cheese Plate
Dorstone Ash
Made at Dorstone Farm, on the Hereford/Welsh border, the Dorstone Ash is a semi-soft cheese made from unpasteurised goat's milk, using animal rennet, It has a crisp white colour that contrasts with blue-ish grey colour of its edible rind, resulting from the coating of ash applied to it. Its texture varies from being fluffy to flaky, depending on its maturity, and its flavour has a slight nuttiness on the rind.

Red Storm
Smartly dressed in vivid red wax, gloriously complex taste due to its 18-21 month maturation the provide the vintage credentials of flavour, finishing on notes of caramel, the Red Storm totally redefines what you might expect from a red Leicester.

Thomas Hoe Smooth Blue
A quintessentially English cheese, Smooth Blue is borne from a century of dairy farming and cheese making expertise on the country estate of the Duke of Rutland. It is hand crafted with a soft creamy texture, and a mild blue taste. It is gentle and delicated compared to other blues on the market, yet it has that recognisable blue flavour. Unusually, it is crafted to be eaten straight from the fridge.

Served with apple and Somerset cider brandy chutney and biscuits.

Around 11:30 / 11:45 they switch from breakfast to the lunch/"rest of the day" menus, but if you are just before or just after that time they tend to be flexible about it. If you want an omelette or other breakfast items later in the day feel free to ask, usually they will be able to sort something out for you, particularly if it is not too busy.

Thanks cws.
Are fruit items, such as strawberries or blueberries available in the CCR?

We're there later this week (evening), and my 1 year-old is addicted to small fruits!

Yes, they are, the fruit salad usually has both, but explain this to the server and they may be able to do something by way of a personal touch. They'll also put some ice cream on top if that helps.

Indeed, IMHO, BA/BS fruit shoppers are good at picking berries and rubbish at picking melons so I always ask for berries and that's usually not an issue. When (occasionally) waiters say they cannot help, I just eat what I want and leave the rest which is wasteful but still better than eating something I never wanted in the first place.

A very topical post, since only moments ago I was sitting on the high tables next to a mother and her highly picky child ordering the host to remove most of fruits from the fruit salad. (It didn't seem to be a problem, after verifying that it wasn't an allergy issue, and they left happy!)

It did, however, remind me of "the princess's fruit salad" scene in Come Fly With Me.
