Brill - thanks for the advice. Booked EDI-LHR-LAX-PHX-LHR-EDI for £2k with 6 days car hire. All BA flight numbers and 1200 TP with the double offer.

higham44 As an example, if you use the BA Holiday finder and search for 12-18 April, From Jersey to Las Vegas in Business, staying at the Excalibur, the alternative flight options give flights via LHR and PHL both ways , which is 40+140+140 TPS each way, then doubled to give 1280 in total. Cost is showing as £2081pp. Obviously you can choose alternative hotels too. Probably other date combos too. All legs count for double TPS as they are combination of BA operated and BA codeshares on AA operated flights.

Me again! Having just retained Silver until Nov 23 is it better to:
1. Try by some miracle to get the remaining 675TPs to make Gold by 8 Nov 22, as I have the 450 I needed for Silver this year (finding it hard to do as don't have the time for a 5 night holiday to get double TPs)
OR
2. Try and make gold for 1125TPs by Dec 22 to take advantage of reduced rate (any ideas?) - that way at worst I land back on silver if I don't fly a lot (as might not fly enough too keep silver next year)
OR
3. Sit on silver until next year and do a big run for 1500 before my renewal date (8 Nov 23) so get Gold in one go?
OR
4. Is there a better plan altogether?

You could do LGW-RAK for £200 with the current promo of using 5K Avios part payment. There's even a couple B2B options in December (not sure if BWB is actually possible in RAK but it's a pretty comfortable looking 80mins turnaround).

Looking for recommendations for US West Coast TP runs on AA or AS. I need 90 TP which looks like it will have to be min. of 3 segments since apparently J tops out at 40 TP unless doing transcon.
Does anyone know if the itineraries with connections trick works with partners? For example, would flying in J SFO-LAS with a connection in LAX be the sum of SFO-LAX (40 TP) + LAX-LAS (40 TP) = 80 TP?

Yes, for BAEC it is the individual segments that count separately.

And this itinerary/change (which now involves the BA Holidays team) is putting the poor GGL line through their paces. Worst case I will use the cooling off period, cancel and rebook if we don't come right (been on the phone for 1 hour!).
Lastly - before I totally mess this up. I land in Phoenix on 23.11 at 08.44 and depart on 27.11 at 15.00. That's 4 nights of car (but would book as 5 days since the 27th is afternoon). Does it need to be 5 nights?

GGL team advised not to try to mess around with the 4 nights / 5 days thing. BA Holidays thinks the terms say 5 nights, and booking 4 nights (well 5 days) has the potential not to activate the double TPs. So I will play safe on the 5 nights thing and fly back 28.11
Unfortunately the seats seem to have evaporated on the PHX-SAN leg. So I'm now down to EDI-LHR-JFK-LAX-(AA)-PHX-LHR-EDI for 1040 / £2k. Pity about not finding another transcon for the win But don't want to be greedy. Means my partner will need to find another 230 points before 31/12. Maybe a Qatar leg somewhere.

To qualify, you’ll need to book a holiday (flights + hotel or flights + car) of at least five nights for travel before 30 September 2023.

Yes I understand the 5 nights T&C. My point was that the car would have been booked for 5 nights (9am on the 23.11 and return 15.00 on the 28.11 = 5 nights cost).
