The flights are suppose to take place in November but I'm based in SYD so besides a BA jaunt to SIN, I'm left with few choices.

If you are mentioning about the 4 BA flight requirement for Silver & higher status, any BA marketed or operated flight would count for this segment requirement.

I have decided to go on my first tier point run in November and have settled on the routing below:
Lisbon (LIS) to Las Vegas (LAS) on Fri, Nov 25

Lisbon (LIS) to Madrid (MAD) on Fri, Nov 25 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM (1h 30m)

Iberia 3107 Airbus A320 Business (I)

American 306 Airbus A321 (Sharklets) Business (I)

LAYOVER IN LAX (1H 46M)

Los Angeles (LAX) to Las Vegas (LAS) on Fri, Nov 25 9:10 PM to 10:22 PM (1h 12m)

American 739 Airbus A321 First (I)

Las Vegas (LAS) to Lisbon (LIS) on Tue, Nov 29

Las Vegas (LAS) to Phoenix (PHX) on Tue, Nov 29 6:23 AM to 8:39 AM (1h 16m)

Madrid (MAD) to Lisbon (LIS) on Wed, Nov 30 11:25 AM to 11:50 AM (1h 25m)

Iberia 3110 Airbus A320 Business (I)

I am currently silver with 280 TP and no qualifying flights. Looking to go Gold before 31/12/22.
I will position LHR-LIS BA CE the day before and book via BA Holidays (flight & car) to get double tier points (160)

Before I go ahead and book I have a few questions for the experts.
- If I book LHR-LIS via BA Holidays with car hire for double tier points - what can I do with the car? Can I just not collect it or will this invalidate the double tier points?
- I need 4 qualifying flights - will the above itinerary gain me 4 qualifying flights (BA LHR-LIS return plus the 2 IB LIS-MAD, MAD-LIS) or should my Itinerary be on BA coded flights (MAD-JFK, JFK-LAX, PHX-PHL & PHL-MAD) at a marginally higher price? - I would get more Avios this way too.
- How should I book it? I have been playing with Matrix Powertool. It won't let me book via BA but will do so via AA website.
- I am right in assuming the TP run will generate 720 who ever I book with.
- Will all flights will show up in my BA App if I manually add them?

Many thanks for your help!

Problem.....

The double TP BA holidays can only start in the UK , are you looking to start yours in LIS or doing the BAH as a LHR-LIS-LHR? If so not collecting the car in Lisbon won't matter.

I will start and finish in the UK - separate BA Holiday booking just for LHR-LIS-LHR (flight with 5 day car hire 24th - 29th)

You can book calling BA. When I called them to book a tp run, they gave a lower price than it was on matrix. Just keep the itenarary in front of you to help the agent make the booking.

I'm looking for a ticket for my mother next year to SF, and I found this fare for 1840 euros. ¿It will be 660 TP? ¿If her year of BAEC start at February she will have 2 years of Silver?

We are on the exact same boat here - I just need 700TPs till the end of Dec. However, I can only travel 7-26 Nov.

Any suggestions?

LON - EDI: Same Day Return

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and have a question for a TP run between London and Edinburgh.

If I want to do a same day turn around in Club, BA don't sell returns for immediate turn arounds. I'm looking at:
LCY - EDI: 06:55 - 08:10
EDI - LCY: 08:45 - 10:15

My question is: BA don't let you buy this return but you can buy 2 singles. Is it actually possible to make the return in time - i.e. when you get off the plane, can you get straight back on with your electronic boarding pass? Or do you have to exit the airside area and then go back through the security (i.e. does the airport force you to do this)? Also if you don't go out and back in, does it register that you are taking the flight just by having the boarding pass scanned at the gate, or is it best to go out and back in?

Would really appreciate your advice as I'm trying to get this TP run done as quickly as possible. Thanks!

As far as I know, this should be relatively straightforward. You decant into the domestic arrivals and normally the outbound passengers are at the same gate. Also, you should be able to download both BPs to your app with no problem. The aircraft type for LCY is not interchangeable with BA Cityflyer, unlike sometimes a BA 320 from LGW will return to LHR. So you should be fine, bearing in mind the only thing guaranteed in life is death and taxes.

Welcome to FT and the BA forum!

35 minutes looks like a very short turnaround. Can you check on flight radar if those flights have been using the same aircraft over the past few days?

In terms of getting off the plane and straight back on, this is called a back-to-back (or B2B for short). There is a dedicated thread on FT which describes whether it is possible at most of BA's locations. In short, for EDI it is possible as long as both flights use the same aircraft. You exit in the main terminal, where people are waiting to board, so you get off and join the boarding queue.

Any good US-based options, or Asia-US in either directions? My usual suspects have zeroed out availability on any of the dates I can fly.
I need 360 TPs before the end of the year and anything above would go to my AS account.
