This thread gives the current catering options for the Galleries First Lounge (Flounge) in LHR Terminals 3 and 5. This lounge is open to BAEC Gold and oneworld Emerald card holders. Passengers flying BA on a First ticket can also use the Concorde Room. The catering supplier was changed on 2 May 2013 to BaxterStorey. Click here to see the former thread, which covered that turbulent period.

The T3 lounge is identical to T5 in terms of food and drink options. However there is no Concorde Room in T3 so from 18:30 hrs there is a pre-flight dining option for First travellers, see here for more details.

The current catering options in the First lounge can be found in the first post in the thread, or you can click here. Currently lounge menus are not always on display in the lounge, but this link may be your best bet to see the options.

Very true. I had two of them when I was there on Boxing Day, buy only out of necessity as they were the only things that appealed to me in my extremely hungover state! There seems to be less and less variation in the buffet these days and the cold options are much more limited compared to even a year ago.

My visit on Tuesday left me with the feeling that I'll be quite happy when my status drops to Silver. The offering in the Flounge was very poor indeed, not only in choice but standard too. I reckon that most of it had been sitting there for a good hour and when I tried the fish I came to the conclusion that if I'd asked them to cook the shoes that I was wearing, they'd have been more palatable. I'm not one for wasting food, but that fish was truly awful. The filo pastry parcels weren't much better.

When I went over to the AA lounge the chap on reception (on noticing my BA status) mentioned that he'd heard numerous times how the BA lounge was going downhill fast.

How long do BaxterStorey have the BA lounges for?

Not everyone is unhappy.

Took my 20 year old daughter in there last week.

Upon taking her around the corner for breakfast she asked 'is this all free? Don't you have to pay?'

Bless

Indeed, a good reminder to us all that we are very lucky to have lounge access in our travels in the first place: my guests have often been impressed by the most unspectacular of lounges and it makes me feel very glad to share the experience with them when they are like kids in a candy store.

Breakfast is good. I don't think anyone disagrees with that.

TBH, they may as well serve the hot breakfast all day, and have afternoon tea as the cold alternative...

I do recall worrying when seeing my father wander about the lounge (he is approaching a certain age...) with a confused look, only to realise he was looking to see where it was you paid for the drinks.

I am not taking him in again as there were several management trainees who approvingly noted this down.

There is a butternut squash individual pastry pie but for the meat eaters I recommend the venison. It was so yummy, I had seconds.

Yes, I'd forgotten about this thread, thanks for the reminder. The vegetarian pies are still very much there, this is the current offering, and it is a spinach and cheese filling. If you eat fish that's also got good reports. The "lounge" offering of the CCR menu. in the Dashboard, is the same as First lounge, minus the club sandwich, and there are several vegetarian items on that.

At this rate of reduction the will have to reduce the hot hold area to not make it look that embarrassing !

edited to add the new dishes are much larger to hide the reduced choice of dishes .. previous posts in the thread confirm this ..

I'm not seeing that. Have a look at post 163, essentially both photos show 4 hot main items, plus a pasta, a rice, a potato dish and vegetables. Now the sizes of dishes has certainly changed, but the 4 items a few days ago were the fish, the pie, a chicken curry and beef chilli.

It's a shadow of its former self, cut to oblivion in comparison to how it was previously. A sea of BA stodge. Only breakfast is good, but thats cos breakfast food is dirt cheap in the UK.

I reckon they should take out a chiller so they don't need to find some cheap crap to stock it with.

That was the offering I was presented with on Sunday. Disgraceful.
