My annual fee finally hit to I reached out to see if the offers had changed. Was offered the following in the order below:
1) $150 statement credit
2) 30k points, no spend
3) 40k points, $4k spend
Decided to accept the 30k with no spend and keep the AMEX Plat for one more year -- primarily because my annual fee has not been adjusted to reflect any price increase since I first opened it so the value prop hasn't been degraded by the fee increases

Read on here that people connected to amex via chat. I did that, first rep transferred me to another rep. She cited all the reasons of the card. I said great, but haven't been able to use them. She offered 30K miles without any stipulations! CHACHING!

Sorry, one quick follow up question on this from my side, I guess this means that if I renewed a card last year say July 5, and a retention offer was accepted, then I would have to wait until Aug 5 or later to seek a retention offer again, correct? Thanks

Schwab Platinum. First renewal. Asked for retention 3 times through chat (once before AF posted, twice after), nothing each time. Called the business retention line around 5 days after annual fee posted, transferred to consumer line, offered 60,000 MR or $650 after $4000 spend in 3 months, credited within 8 - 12 weeks after purchase requirement requirement. Took the 60k MR offer.
