It didn't seem to me that happychic is looking for back to back offers, rather, that they didn't accept the 1st offer and are going to wait and see whether it improves after the annual fee has posted. (IME the offers never get better for me when I wait, but that could just be what the computer spits out for my account)
Could you elaborate on this? From various DPs in the thread, 13 months between retention offers seems to be the guideline, so I am curious what other factors you think are in play that make this doubtful.

Bonvoy Business Card - minimal spend on the card the past year. Used to be my primary card when it was the SPG Business Card.
Offered $150 - $25 now and then $125 after spending $2,000 in 92 days.
asked if there was a points option

Currently have both MS Plat & Schwab Plat - AF hit today on MS, called in to get a retention offer and was told there were no offers, allegedly because I "hold two of the identical card, it cancels out any offers". Really sucks, because I actually do plan to cancel the Schwab in a couple months but would have liked to be able to cash out the retention bonus.

Vanilla Platinum, 5 years with card. 5k spend last year, much more with my other Amex cards. Offered $150, no spend requirement. I told them I wasn't willing to commit to 12 months for $150, I was then offered 30k MR no spend, I took that offer

I was surprised to get a better offer on the same chat session. I declined the $150, was gonna try again next month when my fee posted. But was offered the 30k MR before the that happened. It's quite hard to predict.
