CAUTION: Buyer Beware! DOES NOT WORK TO GET EXP This way
A caution to anyone who may try this suggestion to earn LPs buying FTD bonsai trees and hoping they get credit as a large multiplier of LP's from FTD. The Original Poster (and others) posted back that it posts as bonus miles and not base, so no LPs are earned.

Ok, I figured it, got to AA.com under promotions and you can find the correct link that pulls the 30x promotion that gives the correct miles...
Give from the heart....
Make sure you take screenshots of where you entered your AA number, because it does not save it on the confirmation page...Also, use the AA card for extra AA miles, I assume...
EDIT: Do you think that there may be better offers, as we get close to VD? Like 40 miles/dollar? Or perhaps the other flowershops (lol) may do 40 miles per dollar?

Oh no - I didn't realize they have tasty things. This isn't good for my New Year's Resolution! (Just ordered a Flavor Family box of caramels ) McCrea's Flavor Family Caramels Box (ftd.com)

If you ever wanted to surprise your SO with a room full of flowers (or a garden or bonsai forest), this is the time......But if AA lied about the extra miles, the relationship may not survive come March...

Could at-home Covid tests be a free shortcut?
If your health insurance has to reimburse you for 8 tests per month per person on the plan, a family of 4 could get 13k LP's for "free". I saw a shelf full of Binax tests at my local Walgreens; a 2 pack is $23 and Walgreens is 2 miles/$ through eShopping. Walgreens website did say the store was out of stock but the tests could be shipped.
4 2-packs is $92 or 276 LP's per person per month if you pay with an AAdvantage card through eShopping. If this is valid all year, that's 3312 per person or 13248 LP's for 4 people.
Now you'll just need to find a fax machine to submit the forms.

Of course they might post as base miles (who knows what will actually happen) but it says "bonus miles" in big letters so I would say that you wouldn't have a valid complaint if they posted as bonus.
The 20 mile offer is almost certainly base miles; FTD is listed as a retail partner that earns base miles in the FAQ.
It would not be surprising if the regular ongoing partner offer (20 miles/$) posted as base miles, while anything from a promotion posted as bonus.
