Just got into the Seatac lounge by C/D gates at 2:50pm on a Friday. It's busy in here so I'm a little surprised.

2/27 - 7:30 a.m. D/C location. No PP accepted.
I used my PP more than 50 times in the past 12 months, mostly at SEA and LAX.
As of this morning, I have a Board Room membership again.

Missy Responds
For those of your curious about Missy's response.
Unfortunately doesn't offer much help, other than the comment about presidents day being really busy, however, based on the reports in this thread, the trend has continued.
I've made inquiries, but I don't know what I'd be able to share that hasn't already been mentioned in the other thread by our lounge and social media peeps.
I do know that Alaska Lounge members have complained here on FT about overcrowding, so I guess I don't see that this is unexpected. I heard (not sure of the legitimacy) that President's weekend travel was heavier than Christmas.
Add to that multiple weather-related operational issues in the past month.
If they have to limit entry, then it would make sense to me that non-members would be restricted first.

Well I think the point is that Alaska needs to decide what to do. As I mentioned before, I have PP through my Amex Plat as well as Lounge membership. As I travel alone for the most part, I don't have family or guests with me and if I do, there are more than two. So it begs the question, if PP got me the same as my lounge membership (as well as Amex Centurion lounges) why would I pay for a lounge membership? If they are limiting entrance to only members at times, then that "might" be a reason. So if Alaska is losing a lot of $$$ by turning away PP then maybe they want to address capacity or just simply drop the program if they are happy with what they have. I can tell you that as the years have gone by, the Lounge really is no different at times then any other public venue and I first joined decades ago mainly because it was usually not crowded and would always be more quiet than other places.

with VX Loft (LAX) closing down sometime this spring , this will make AS LAX much busier.
Chances for VX flyers to use PP at AS lounge with disappear .

Right now PP can still advertise the footprint when in reality it look like a 50/50 hit or miss based on data here...

I went to the AS BR on Saturday with PP (x 2 pax) after arrival for less than 5 minutes to use the restroom and grab a cup of coffee.
If AS becomes more hostile towards PP members, they may find that many people can't or don't bother trying to give them $20 per person for a cup of coffee.

I wish they would make a firm comment to PP about wanting to leave the program or something. At least then PP might try to bring in another partnership if they notice a decent amount of airports that will either have no lounge option now or just one....

This may be a temporary issue. I suggest that judgment be withheld until after the C Lounge opens.

If Priority Pass really gives the lounge $20 every time someone uses it, then I have certainly given the Alaska lounge more than a membership fee in revenue over the past year. However, if I can't use priority pass, I would probably just use the Centurian lounge instead rather than pay for a membership. The location is less convenient to the AS gates, but the food is much better. I go to the lounge mostly to grab a quick bite to eat before a flight without having to wait in a line. The Alaska lounge food is not worth the membership fee.

What are everyone's thoughts on DL's Skyclubs? I'd primarily use the one at Seatac and I haven't been near the new one at the A gates but heard it's really nice. It's a bit of a haul from the AS gates but on days that I get to the airport early enough, I don't really mind the walk.

That won't help this same issue at PDX though... if it was just a SEA issue then I would tend to lean toward your thinking on it is possibly just a short term issue... but with PDX seeing a lot of "Not today...." that makes it seem more like a network wide issue...
