Well if BR members are getting peeved and not renewing (I wouldn't...) then it is costing them in that way. Either way, if they are near capacity they shouldn't try and push it...

This looks about right to me and I think those free 75K electronic passes count as day passes so in other words, they will only let you in if the lounge is close to empty

Alaska Lounge Member/AA Admirals Club Member
Alaska Paid F passenger, etc.
Actually, if Alaska wishes to make paid first class a "member for the day" as part of the ticket then they should all have equal status to all paid members. Then follow through with day passes, PP. I think it has been said that Alaska appears to be losing out in income by denying admittance so if they want to offer this product then they should expand. Then again, I am not a business man! Like most others in this thread, I am beginning to question having a Lounge membership as it really has not offered anything of benefit these past several months, at least to me.

03FEB17 SEA N BR 5:30pm Friday PP denied
12FEB17 SEA N BR 4:00pm Sunday PP denied
Note I'm a BR (sorry: AL) member. On both days, there were people queued up to enter the lounge. But as I walked up to use the "Magic Finger" entry gadget I saw/heard the agents telling Priority Pass cardholders that the lounge was space constrained.
Also on Friday 3 Feb. the agent told a fellow that he could use a MVP75K pass to gain access if he wanted.

Both the C and N lounges have the sign out right now. I even asked at the C lounge but no go. I am sitting in the United Club over in A now.

LAX BR just had the no PP sign out -- went up anyway (actually, went up just because) and they let us in anyway. One of the agents told the other "we just had 15 people leave, so I'm taking some PP." I'm not a lounge person, and almost never stop by the BRs in LAX and PDX, but if it's true that AS generates $20+ per visit, I might start making it a point to swipe in before wandering off to less depressing parts of the airport.

I have traveled through SEA a lot lately as an AA Admirals Club member and have been more than disappointed with the services at the SEA Alaska Lounge. Poor WiFi, sad snacks, etc. I usually stay in the Central Terminal area, looking at planes, and tapped into my phone's WiFi.
Back to topic. Never been denied access to any Alaska Lounge either with my Priority Pass (prior to 2016), or my AA Admirals Club membership.

2/16/17 LAX AS 1:00 PM Thursday PP accepted
2/16/17 SEA C AS 5:30 PM Thursday PP denied
2/20/17 ANC. AS 8:30 PM Monday PP accepted
Airport was packed @ SEA. They told me to go to Concourse A but only had about an hour between flights so just waited to board. Both times, they never checked my boarding pass though.

Ugh, there's no other option with PP at PDX. I don't rly enough to make a BR membership cost effective but the day pass cost does add up... probably 4 to 6 visits a year. I just got my CSR a couple months ago and was looking forward to the PP perk.... might have to use my bonus points up and then downgrade the card and get the Amex Plat card so I have PP access AND Delta Sky Club. I was leaning toward the Amex card anyway but the 100k chase bonus and $300 travel credit is what pulled me over. The airline fee refund on Amex is less beneficial for me, but I'm sure I could use it up every year.
