Good catch! I had to try two different links which oddly linked to different terms and only one spelled out the lounge access terms. I'll have to do some reading up on Amex lounges and if PDX has one or is getting one...

PDX
Was at PDX yesterday morning (by the C gates) and saw about 4 people get turned away...even though there is a sign out front of the BR. One of the people started to argue with the BR staff about it too.

2/21/17 SEA D AS 7:20 AM Tuesday - No PP (or Lounge Club) sign out
2/21/17 SEA N AS 7:30 AM Tuesday - No PP sign out, though I looked in and the half of the Board Room visible from the door was largely empty (didn't go in and ask since I cut it close getting here)

Alaska Response
What is the best way to get an official comment on this?
It has been a nice perk of Amex Platinum and CSR for flying out of PDX.
Would be a bummer to lose it. Based on the quality of the lounge I would not pay to be a member.
Wonder what the end game is? End the PP relationship? Launch a re-branded higher end lounge with the Virgin merge?

Maybe Missy could throw in her two cents

2/22/17 SEA N BR ~8:00 AM Wednesday - Allowed in with PP, but used the restroom in the concourse since there was a line around 8:30 and the sign was out (but I left all my stuff inside so just went back in). Is noticeably more crowded than when I got here.
Stopped at AMEX lounge first around 7:00 (for food) and was much less crowded than it has been for me. I'm sure that new Delta lounge is taking a lot of pressure off the AMEX one.

I finally got a reply from Priority Pass regarding Alaska Lounges that were not even close to full and PP members still being denied entry. The representative from PP said that they may deny entry based on travelers that have "pre-booked" space in the lounge--weird . The only explanation I can think of is that they are trying to say that Alaska Lounge members have essentially "pre-booked" the space by paying their membership fee and the lounge agents can predict when they are likely to use the lounge based on day/time trends. Priority Pass did appreciate the feedback and knowing that Priority Pass members are having difficulty accessing Alaska Lounges. I still think Alaska and PP will go their separate ways in the not too distant future if PP members continue to be denied entry the majority of the time.

Denied - plenty of seats there
2/21 - 4:00 PM, N Terminal
One of my coworkers is a BR member who was minutes behind me, so I ended up getting in. 30% full, at most.
Had a nice conversation with staff about the change in policy, and then watched at least 3 or 4 people get turned away with PP.
Take with a grain of salt, but I was told that there has been a 300% increase in PP usage in Seattle in the past year.
I have been a BR member in the past, and two years ago did the math that PP was the better deal (with Citi Prestige). The gig appears to be up.

Yep, I agree...the gig does appear to be up....I don't see AS keeping it's association with PP past this current year. I'll miss it since the AS Lounge is the only PP lounge at PDX, but if they're going to deny entry to PP 90% of the time, they need to officially make the break because right now it's just frustrating.

Back in my UA days, I would visit the UA Club at PDX and it was never very crowded....it would be nice if PP members could use that one. I've got AMEX but have never visited the PDX Sky Club because you have to have a DL boarding pass to visit and the one time I flew DL in the past year, I had my kids with me so that was a no-go since they don't allow any free guests.

AS in PDX is actively looking to build a new lounge too due to overcrowding...no idea of a timeline though.
