I'm extremely FOTSG when it comes to international R space.
I think I've upgraded 2 international flights, and I've booked 3? with IKK.
I'm looking at MUC-YYZ in Jan/Feb, and here is what I've noticed when I searched a period of 5 weeks.
Every Sunday is R0.
There are 4 non-Sundays (in a 5 week period) that are R0 (meaning almost every other day has positive R space).
No idea if that's typical, but they don't seem to open R space on Sundays, even though they do on every other day.

TPAC is a different story.

The upgrade priority is interesting.
Especially when you're looking at lists where you know the status and fare class of everyone.
Check-in time makes a HUGE difference sometimes. I'm watching one flight where # 1 is SE, W class. # 4 is also SE, W class. There's one seat available.

I know that AC laid it out for us some time ago, but i know a SE*2MM who always seems to be just ahead me on any lists, even though i may have checked in before him (but he is flying more than me and has more LT miles than I do). He is clueless to check-in times, Air Canada's priority etc. etc.
