450 Euros yesterday CDG-ORD from C to F. So not worth it on the old 767.

Seems to be within reason vis-a-vis UA.

UA 917 FRA-IAD on 9/2 was new biz. Flight schedule lookup on unitedcargo.com (look for the 47C designation) seems to be fairly reliable.

It's a different price for NC->F and paid C->F? Interesting!

I noticed that too. So £700 (~$1,238 USD) for NC->F (a "double" upgrade)!

I wonder if the UFC profile has been changed to allow this as it was specifically prohibited before. A bit steep (SWU or miles plus GBP700) -- I can't imagine many takers.

Cool Y > C U/G Offered at Booking!

When I was booking a round trip flight LAX-GRU a few weeks ago, I was very surprised to get an offer to buy up to C for the entire return flight for a little less than $500.

I was buying a refundable fare because my plans may change, and just before completing the purchase, this offer popped up with a 5 minute time limit. It was only for the return legs, not the outbound.

I took it and now the return is booked in Z class, but the fares rules of my original (refundable) purchase apply.^

I upgraded the outbound with a SWU, so I am all set, unless my schedule gets changed.

Nice. Normally the "buy-up to C" offers that I have gotten at booking have been horrible, horrible deals, with those time limits. Usually is cheaper to buy actual C on a Z fare, IME.

It sounds like yours was different, however, so thumbs up if this is finally changing.

just a guess but it might be possible that the difference between the refundable fare (guessing Y/B?) and the Z fare was only ~$500

Since the flight was about to go out with at least one seat empty in F, the gate agent asked her supervisor (also at the gate) if she could sell the seat for GBP490 to at least make some revenue, and he said "No!"

Can you pay or partially pay a UFC with a cash voucher? For example, if offerred a UFC from Y to C for $650, can I use a $200 systemwide voucher to pay for it?
