I'm flying BOS-SFO on an old (from what I can tell) 737-200 - with overhead tv's still.
Contemplating spending $75 a head (2 of us) for E+ on the way out, as the flight looks very full and we are going to be crammed in row 30.
It's just showing row 14 and 20 remaining for two seats side by side. It looks like these won't recline due to being an exit row. Worth the money you think for a transcontinental flight?

Also, note that better E+ seats often open as elites get upgraded in the five days prior to departure.

It's a long flight in cramped E- For me, I'd say worth $75.

I'd take non-reclining E+ over E- any day, except on a redeye. Likewise with row 20 over reclining E+.

It's very uncomfortable to sit in a seat that will not recline regardless of legroom, which is the ONLY thing you get with E+. At least Delta offers 7" of recline, more legroom, and a more comfortable seat with extra padding. If the seat reclined I might pay $75 each way. Otherwise, don't waste $150 on a RT that you can use to buy a nice hotel room for a night! It all depends on how important recline vs. legroom is.

As others stated, row 14 is standard E+ while 20 is first of two exit rows with MUCH more legroom, but with a few exceptions is NONRECLINING.
There may well be upgrades and/or buyups to domestic FC which could free up other E+ seats, but it has also been reported by posters in the past that it can be impossible to change to another E+ once purchased and selected.

I may try it on the way out as that's the longer flight going westbound.

F is booked 12/24, which means that quite a few E+ seats are likely to open up beginning on Dec. 28.

Ah hell, I'll give it a try for at least the outgoing flight, even in exit row 20.
Flights looks packed. Don't want to start the vacation out crammed in the 30th row.

I believe that's the longest domestic route in the UA system (not counting ANC and HNL routes). It sure feels like forever. So I don't blame you. Good luck.

Does having the United Mileage Card get you E+ for free?
Just asking?
Thanks!
