Access to Polaris lounges (source):

update 29 Sept 2017, effective 1 Oct, 2017

Departure: The airport you are leaving on an international J/F flight* from, i.e. EWR-ORD-NRT
Connecting: The airport to or from which you have a short-haul flight to connect to a longer flight, i.e. EWR-ORD-NRT or NRT-ORD-EWR
Arrival: The airport you arrive at after your long-haul flight, i.e. EWR-ORD-NRT

Hours- 4:30a - 10:45p

*Currently it appears that any departing international flight on an *A partner qualifies (except AC operated transborder flights ), but only United flights with the premium cabin class listed as 'Polaris Business' or 'Polaris First' will qualify for entrance after arriving off a United Polaris flight.
UA premium cabin flights not marketed as Polaris, such as Domestic First or International Business (Canada, Mexico, Caribbean ... ) are not eligible for Polaris lounge access.

dining room menu

The EWR breakfast sandwich Pork roll, 5 Spoke Creamery cheddar cheese, scrambled egg, arugula, grilled flatbread

Ricotta pancakes Dried fruit compote, caramel sauce

Breakfast empanada Chorizo, egg, potato, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo

Greek yogurt parfait Arethusa Farm maple yogurt, granola, banana, cinnamon

Avocado toast Whole grain toast, smashed avocado, hard-boiled egg, peppadew peppers, red onion, bacon crisps, dill

Surprisingly strong breakfast dining room menu selection. No wait at 7AM with ~5 parties in the dining room. The breakfast empanada was top notch and could have had a few more of those. Avocado toast could have used a little more avocado and bacon but toast was buttery and soft. Ricotta pancakes were super fluffy and light while not being overly sweet. Breakfast sandwich was good too and the potatoes on the side were crispy and hot. Yogurt parfait wasn't anything exceptional but quite good. Good portion sizes to share a selection of items for 2 people.

I found it extremely dry and rather difficult to eat. Was definitely missing something to make it palatable, IMO.

Wow, that’s terrible for international business. I’ve seen that for $9.99 at total wine 😂 Even AA wouldn’t pull this.

Menu today. Pork dish was meh, burger was just ok. Fries too fried. Prisoner wine was good, thanks for the recommendation here.

Things like this are what keeps the SFO PL from being the worst IME/O. Keep it up EWR!

Is this what the menu shows, or are they just slyly serving it and hoping people won't notice?

Polaris Access on arrival question

I am sorry as I thought I had once read something about this somewhere on here but unfortunately now just can’t seem to find it ….

flying inbound to EWR in Polaris (international) on United metal …will I have Polaris access on arrival? I understand if allowed I will also likely need to get from B to C (if that is even permitted?)

If either is not possible, is there any other option in B? (My “connection” is on separate ticket & also not on same calendar day so not sure what exactly is permitted on initial arrival in this scenario)

TIA!

It figures..again my apologies as I just found it…in above wiki no less 🙄☺️so it seems access is allowed in this my scenario but still just wondering if anyone has the experience &/or has had any issues with accessing terminal C on a B arrival without a same day connection/boarding pass?

Again TIA!

Believe that since it is not on same day, lounge access would unfortunately be no anyway. More info at Consolidated "Polaris Lounge Access Questions" Thread
However, if one is eligible for PL access they can clear security at C, use the PL, then take the shuttle bus to B if they are departing from B3 pier only (Gates B60-B68) which handles most foreign *A carriers. If departing from other piers in B you would unfortunately have to clear security twice to visit PL and make your flight.

Thank you for your swift reply! I am however sorry if my posts are confusing, I was specifically asking about access on arrival (same day UA metal which I now realize is mentioned above as allowed) but with my needing to go from B to C (with just the same day arrival flight boarding pass) if that will present any issues.

Ok, I see. Yes, it is allowed. TSA won't mind that you are going in the "wrong" terminal, provided you have a valid boarding pass for a departing flight. [Edit: Unfortunately does not apply for OP's situation]
