It seems that UA doesn't want us to buy tickets online???
How much revenue is lost because of their IT incompetence? This is getting worse, and absurd. :td::td::td: CEO Oscar needs to know this. It honestly seems things are gradually getting WORSE - it's unreal that this has been allowed to continue for this long! I needed to book a flight to Korea in a few weeks - best price on UA was something like $20k in J with three stops lol - Google flights sorted it out (and with 1 stop) but it shouldn't be this hard! I know there have been people let go in IT lately - apparently just not the right ones... |

I thought about doing that but realized I'd be yelling at people powerless to do anything about the root cause of the problem.

I've been trying to buy a ticket for the last two days with no luck, either on the website or the app. I love the app message: "Something went wrong".
That's certainly one way to put it. |

Trying to book BWI-NRT 9/3/16, NRT-BWI 9/26/16. Looks like its confused as heck, it seems to be mostly showing B, Y, and P fares. And showing Y as lowest, B as flexible. Weird. Advanced mode is showing the lower fare buckets available. Seems consistently wrong across web and app, and whether logged in or not. It was actually working fine earlier today, then did another search, and it stopped working. So I guess someone hit some button somewhere and broke it right then. Sigh.
Edit: Interesting, it only seems to effect BWI-NRT on 9/3. Other destinations look correct, and other dates BWI-NRT are OK. |
Still a problem April 5 & 6. Tried with different browsers as well. Strangely, worked somewhat better when I was not logged in at the site. No reply from United web support.

I also am unable to pull up flights from Google Flights. Don't know if this is a new issue but the click-through just takes me to the homepage, rather than the flight booking page. |
Wonder if they are doing some updates / changes that have impacted things to make it even worse. Today is the day they were supposedly going to release an update that would fix the Expert Mode problem.
Sad that both UA Insider and UA Digital Insider are both silent on the degrading United.com experience. |
I hope that those of you who experience this will either tweet United or post on the Facebook page. The more public attention this gets the more likely it is to be fixed.

I'm having the same error message.
PLUS I am continually logged out of the site (even after going through their "added security" of picking answers to stupid questions). I log in, then I click on "reservations" and see that I'm logged out again! Driving me mad. |

The new website is an unmitigated disaster. |
With GREAT difficulty managed to book one ticket and now can't get the other booked. The Google flights link to UA doesn't pull up the flights and UA just says to see the error message, of which there is none, and won't return any flights at all. Best I can do is to get an outbound to come up but even that I can't get for the last 30 minutes.
And now no other sites will find the flights. What have they done?????? |
using "edit search" causes web site error
I was shopping for flights and I could get an itinerary to come up, but if I clicked on "edit search," changed the search parameters, and then tried to select one of the new flights that appeared, I just got an error message. The only work around was to log out and back in and then to enter the new search parameters. I lost count of how many times I had to log out and back in during my flight searching.
I've been encountering this problem for at least several days now. |
Can't book a ticket this morning on two browsers. I'm getting the error message:
We were not able to find any available seats meeting your requirements. You may modify your search criteria, or call 1-800-UNITED-1 (1-800-864-8331) within the U.S. or Canada; elsewhere contact your local United Reservations Office. I check prices almost every day and have had no trouble until today. I purchased a ticket yesterday without issue. |
