Website is totally quirky, the back button sometimes shows me the old search flights page and sometimes it doesn't, new menu, same kitchen. Paint the front door and same ol'.

United's New Website

I was about to book a trip from IAD to DOH through DXB and the old website showed 9 upgradeablt seats in bus/first. I left for a week and I can't get back to the old website and the new website shows no upgradable fares. IN fact, trying to check so many routeings from US to Europe (LHR, AMS, FRA,) show virtually no upgrade availablity for mid-week in february. Is this a website transition issue. The seat selection on the flight I wanted showed NO bookings in bus/first, but the seat availability just disappeared. Anyone else having problems... with the new website?

THanks.

Lack of R is not necessarily a website issue (new or old).

R availability changes frequently. Likely less a website issue and more a timing issue.

I believe this has been reported before and in fact has happened to me.

Different awards listed on the sites.

How do you check for upgradeable seats? Are they upgradeable for anybody or do you have to be a certain status, I will be Platinum next year.

Enable "Expert Mode" in your profile. Then when you are booking flights, click on "Details" in the flight results and it will show booking classes. If you see R greater than 0, that means a seat is available to be upgraded into, at that time, on that particular flight. Status not necessarily necessary. As Plat u can use your 1) RPUs to get into or 2) use miles or 3) miles and "service charge" (depending on route).

It's never worked for me on the new site. Most frustrating since I have to input all the last flight search info as I'm watching the price on my next flight.

When I go to my reservations and then to the cancelled flights link, none of the cancelled flights comes up. I need to get the information on a cancelled flight but I just get an error message.

Also, I wanted to book award tkts and on the new site, no seats were available on my desired dates. I went to the old website and voila!, I was able to get seats.

But now, as has been mentioned, you can't get to the old website.

Depending on what you need the "More>" button on the canceled reservations list page may provide it (canceled ticket total price and taxes); otherwise you would need to call reservations.

This is the same functionality as the old website, IME, so at least they haven't made that worse...

Tried that as well. When I try the "more" link, I get this:

Error

! We were unable to review the latest information for this itinerary.

Except the "change flights" search function is horribly broken and cannot be relied on to return lowest available fare!

Just like the old site, of course. :(

I have found that if I clear my cookies, "remember me" will work one time after restarting my browser. After that it no longer works.

I was expressly commenting on the old site's functionality in responding to this post:

Sure we all accept that a new interface is going to be a short term PITA as we figure out how to do what we used to do - but that's not what the majority of the issues that are being pointed out on this thread - for me personally the pricing engine has proven to NOT work properly - I even saved the screen shots and sent them to UA! The price difference was thousands of dollars that the new site simply could not replicate - even though the old site and google flights could - so that's not a user whining about a new interface (that honestly IS at least three years behind current ones) - this issue alone is a significant financial issue for me. And the truth is - most folks wouldn't even know that they weren't getting the right price - they would just purchase it and be totally ignorant to the fact that they paid more and got less!

Add in the award search dysfunctionality, ticketing failing to complete leaving you with an error screen, an incredible slow-down in basic web site navigation (just trying to display an existing reservation takes two to three times as long as it used to / should) - add it all up and you have a really poor implementation that they worked on for how long? Two years? This is just poor execution - considering as Jeff pointed out - THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE ONE OF THE WORLDS TOP ECOMMERCE SITES! And this is the "upgrade" that they implement?
