But I am looking for an award ticket from US to the inner China city, all segments showed available at air canada, but on UA, the itin ends/starts with the harbor city only (the connection from the harbor to the inner China city used to be on Air China)

Seems to be cookie or session related (and not limited to the new website) -- usually if I sign out and back in again or attempt it with a different web browser or some combination of the above coaxes it into submission.

I tried that and still not working. I notice that it is that way on every reservation made since the beginning of October. I don't recall having a problem with this before.

Website quotes double saver award miles for return leg

I'm trying to book a N.American (YYZ-BOS) award trip. The website correctly shows me available saver outbound legs at 12.5k miles. However, when selecting the return flight - every option that is listed as "saver" is actually quoting the full 25k miles. So, the outbound "Saver" is 12.5k, while return "Saver" is 25k, for a 37.5k total round trip "Saver" award. Both are non-stop legs on AC. That makes no sense to me. I've tried a few other dummy domestic routings and don't see the problem. Did I miss some new rule specific to partner award bookings or is the website just hosed up and I'll need to work with their web support team to make the booking?

Are you using a legal routing with less than four hours connecting time?

United is quoting all of the coach class awards in one column f:rolleyes: your convenience. At the top of the column it sometimes says this in a little box:
Code:

We've combined Saver and Standard Awards into one column to
provide you with the lowest price available.

Sadly, it appears that saver awards are not available for your return.

FWIW, that trip if taken on UA (or UA Express) metal should cost 10k miles each direction at saver rates. That would, however, require a stop as UA does not serve that market nonstop on its own metal.

To follow up on what Xyzzy said, there's no longer a display column for "saver economy." There's just an "economy" column, and it will show either saver (if availalble) or standard (if there is no saver).

That's just it - I'm aware that both are listed in the same column. The problem is that the return leg selections are actually identified as "Saver Award", but are quoted at full standard "price". Either the "Saver Award" tag is being incorrectly applied, or the price calculation is incorrect.

If they are both aC legs, AC only gives X and its only saver..

FWIW, as I was talking to an agent to get flight change information over the phone, I mentioned that I was calling because "change flights" on the website was not working and the agent said that a lot of people had been having problems with it the last few days.

Trying to figure out Greece flight on new UA site

I don't like change. That said, I am SO confused about the info on UA's NEW website. I've been trying to get to Greece since I broke my foot on a European trip in college, and missed that stop. It's my bucket list item. So I'm looking at the new website and all I see from DTW are Lufthansa flights. I also see 3 columns- Economy, Business, and First. Since the merger, when I go to Europe on my own steam, I book an economy ticket, use miles and extra $ to upgrade. But that's UA, not Lufthansa. I also can't tell how many premier miles I would earn.

And Lufthansa flies to Paris to change planes. Is there no way to fly UA to Paris to change planes? I'm not knocking the other airline, but I sure would like to get my usual BF seat. I have NO idea what these 3 columns stand for. I've flown to Europe many times and always upgraded to BF. Is that Business? Can we use UA miles on a Lufthansa flight?

I went to their website and was even more confused. I'm only a Gold Elite next year- is that the problem? I know we're all an alliance. But I'm shocked that I wouldn't get a UA flight from EWR or ORD or even IAH that connects to another airline going to Athens. I have saved up enough Starpoints with SPG to stay at Luxury Collection hotels during the trip. Now that's pretty easy to figure out, but I want to fly UA for a few reasons. I want to be able to upgrade, that is most important, using my miles and whatever extra it costs. But The "Business" flights are not very highly priced so if that is BF I might agree to just purchase it. Also, I enjoy UA's BF flights. And if I fly Lufthansa, do I earn the same premier miles as if I was on UA? Does Lufthansa have the same onboard amenities as UA?

I was certain that UA would get me to Europe with little problem, but this new website takes getting used to. I can't find a lot of the info. I'm not going until Spring, but if there are new rules or I can't upgrade or earn miles, I don't want to fly an airline I know very little about. It's a long trip and I want to be comfortable, but with the 3 columns- Economy, Business and First, the First has a fare I could not afford. Is this possibly referring to Global First?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Well, considering my post was moved right away, it's buried and probably will get no replies. It has to do with the web changes but the questions have to do with UA policy. But if anyone can help, I appreciate it. GRRRRR!

I was looking for 1 way LHR-PHX on 1/1/16 flying Star Alliance. There was none and under the filter the option to choose star alliance flights wasn't available. However if I picked some other days e.g. 1/2 or 1/5 the "star alliance" box was clickable and sure enough a few star alliance options came up.

Is it safe to way the "star alliance" choice only is available to click when there are flights available?

Low on the totem pole of issues.....

...but once - just once - I would like the home page to actually "Remember Me" so I do not have to enter my FF number and password every time when signing in

This works on my ipad (Safari), but not on any other browser or device I use. I'm not a techie, but makes me think it has something to do with browser settings.

Sometimes it remembers me but requires re-login to view account details. So then when I go to type my password in, it remembers '*****123' for my MP number (i.e. seemingly correct with first five characters *'d-out). And then when I do type in my password, it treats the *'s literally! So it's worse than not being remembered, since I have to clear the field first, and then type in all of my details anyway.

I was doing some flight searching on UAL.com today and had a great idea for a way to enhance their search capabilities. So I went to find the appropriate web contact form to give United feedback and constantly ran into bugs/poor validation errors/poor design/poor code. I wound up filling out so many forms with suggestions on how they can improve their forms that I forgot my original idea about the search feature...

This just highlights to me that while home page and the flight search page are nice and new and pretty, the rest of the website is still old and decrepit.
