I guess it would be too easy to show all the flight options and let us pick. The flight availability is also poor.

For a site in beta for so long, and now released, they are slow to fix bugs. I don't get it. :td:

Completely agree. It is not helpful to click through a multi city itinerary trying to get the best price then find the website pricing the last economy leg at $2K just to raise the price of the total ticket back up. I am really a semi-kayaker who winds up booking UA when the price is right, and this is turning me into a Matrix/Orbitz booker.

You can apply more than one TCVA e-cert to a multi-pax itinerary

Humor my tired and old eyes ;) as I've gone thru the thread and probably missed it but just in case I didn't......

Iirc, under the old website, one was unable to apply more than one e-cert to a multi-pax itinerary and you had to call in to web-support to see if they would do it where it was a ymmv situation.

Yesterday, I wanted to book a trip for goalie parents and both goalie-dad and I had a $150 e-cert so I called web-support to see if they would apply both to the reservation and the agent said I could do it on-line

Both e-certs were TCVA so they are applied on the payment page and it was hiding in plane sight where right after you apply the first e-cert there is a link to apply an additional e-cert. I didn't think it would work but it did :)

Like I said, I probably missed it up-thread but if I didn't... :)

Nope, I've applied multiple ETCs for multiple PAX itins on the old site just fine, dating back to the CO days to a couple weeks ago.

Next steps for the new united.com (post your comments, questions and concerns here)

Correct. You could always apply Multiple TVCs to an itinerary - limited to one per pax. Two things on the new site that I see:

- the ability to apply the cert across all pax on a multi-person itin vs. needing to select a pax to apply it to - though to be honest, haven't tried it so unsure what actually happens (and I don't ever remember seeing the option on the old site, but perhaps it was there, also don't know what the benefit really is)
- on the new site, the options to pay with a cert are sort of hiding - you have to click an arrow beside "United payment options" to bring down the options (ecert, gift card, United Travel Bank, etc.). These options were visible on the payment page by default on the old site.

I know other posters have already noted this bug.

I guess we have to just suck it up.

yet another thing copied from DL!

The new 'manage reservations' button on the home page does not seem to reflect updates to an itinerary. For example, I still see a JFK-LAX itinerary on the home page, even though that route clearly no longer exists.

Small nit, no biggie, but clearly some kind of disconnect in the back-end IT.

Assuming that that is a current reservation that was at one time valid -- has it been reissued to reflect the new routing/origin? In the old website when a schedule change rendered a ticketed itinerary no longer valid what showed up until it was reissued was a bit of a crapshoot (usually either the original origin and destination, or the original origin but the first connection city instead of the destination depending on what changed).

I've had a number of itinerary changes that I've made (mostly dates) and they all seem to be reflected more-or-less instantaneously (if the website actually has me logged in...grrrrr )

It is a mess. I have remnants of mixed carrier itineraries long-since cancelled or changed still sitting in the list, and a modestly (though not really) complex itinerary that went through a change is listed as "refunded" even though it is still in effect.... I think/hope.

:td::td: just give us the old site back - better the devil you know.

This site is just awful for paid and award searches compared to the old site.

It's time to start a letter-writing campaign to bring back the old site. Or at least have it as an alternate option as it was at UAL.com for a couple months.

+1

Can someone draft a petition to bring old site back?

I am perplexed, why UA is giving us such piece of junk.

What does UA gain from such horrible web site?

I just can't figure out. Is it pure IT incompetency?

We should let Oscar know this.

Yeah! Letter-writing campaign! I'm onboard! Because, ummm, this is the 18th Century. Right?

RNE, wondering where I mislaid my quill pen.

Hey, if you really want to torture them, have ME hand-write the letters with that quill pen. Being left-handed, quill/fountain pens are a disaster-in-the-making. I made good use of that. Nobody knew how to teach left-handers how to write, so I'd consistently get Fs in penmanship. Since I was getting an F anyway, I started to use exclusively fountain pens, dragging my wrist across the ink as I wrote. :D

Thankfully, that got me learning how to type, very fast, at a very young age. ^

So what am I writing about?

You have a better idea to bring back the old site other than flooding execs email inboxes with our thoughts?
