Is it no longer possible to mix 'Economy' with 'Upgrade Eligible' economy fares when booking on the website for GPU upgrades? I used to see 3 columns of flight prices, standard Eco, Eco class that could be upgraded and then standard business fares.
This was great when you only wanted to use a GPU in one direction, so could book the more expensive fare class in that direction and standard eco fare class in the other. This was on the website yesterday, but today I only see 2 columns. Upgrade eligible eco and standard business. Very annoying :-( Is there something I can do to get all 3 prices to show again? |
Timetable not working properly: not displaying all flights
The online timetable on united.com, mobile.united.com and on the app is not displaying all flights. For example, CLE-IAD this week, no flights Mon-Fri, and only 1 flight on Sat. Whereas doing a dummy booking properly displays all flights. And this is the case with many other searches I attempted. It's been like that for the past few days.

I can't really login to my account. I enter my MP # and password, it appears to log me in. I can click into manage a specific reservation from the home page, but if I click on "My Account" it kicks me back out and makes me re-login, after login it then dumps me back on the home page, and clicking on My Account, or anything other than manage a specific reservation makes me re-login. Endless loop. Completely worthless.
Dear UA Insider, you are quickly catching up in the race to most useless US airline webpage, about to surpass Delta, which ought to just be really embarrassing. |
Yesterday I had a seemingly easy ticket to purchase on United.com. Two stops between SEA and South America for the itinerary I wanted. I bought it and it ticketed. I then needed to cancel and rebook with a return one day later. When selecting those flights and logging in to my MP account, after I selected the traveler it errored out.
Took me 45 minutes on the phone with UA web support to get them to ticket the flights the way I wanted them. But here are some interesting points: 1. The agent told me that they still have access to the OLD website to make doing things easier because the new website is such a disaster; 2. The agent could not price/fare my flights the way I was seeing them. So she took the fare out of the ticket I already cancelled and simply stored that fare in the new ticket and then ticketed it. This resulted in me paying about $9 extra in PFCs that shouldn't be there but it was the easiest thing to do so I was fine with it. My original return was via EWR and SFO. Now it's via IAH and SFO and IAH has lower fees than EWR. I still don't know how she was able to store a fare from one ticket and use it on another one. That's new to me. -RM |
Unbelievable... The website's ability to change an award reservation is still broken. It's been about a week (seems around the same time Expert Mode broke, don't know if it's related).

Just another data point that the fares I am seeing for a multi-city itin are all wonked out... Showing lack of lower buckets (on all options), pricing to fullish fares, etc.. Very annoying.

I'm on a B fare return to NRT coming up, but when I go to "change flights" and do a search for specific fare 'B', I'm still offered only M with absurd change fees.
On the phone with 1K desk, and I've been on hold for 15 minutes while they went to talk to rate desk. It shouldn't be this hard T.T |
Fare is $0 huh?
Looking at a RT SEA-KIX in late June using the "lowest business fare" panel on the far right of the "economy" screen. So picked an outbound SEA-SFO-KIX on UA at approx $3700, then go to return fares. Most of them are similar amounts, but part-way down the page, for flights involving a leg on Asiana, e.g. KIX-ICN-SFO-SEA, the fare is shown as $0. OK, just for fun, select that & get an all-in fare somewhere in the $4000 range. BTW, an all-UA RT prices to approx $7k. Can someone explain this ... does it get an all-inclusive RT fare or a magic glitch in the software. If so, maybe I should buy a Lotto ticket.

I also could not get .com to show the UA nonstop KIX-SFO option for my return. It would only show connecting itineraries via TYO or ICN. How many different ways can we say the new website is utterly, totally broken. |

The website is struggling with "what does the segment price even mean" when it shows you fares. |

I had this exact problem months ago, except in reverse. There's something wrong with the KIX fares and how they display.

How many different ways can we say the new website is utterly, totally broken. After selecting SFO-KIX outbound, can't get KIX-SFO nonstop at ual.suk Only 1-stops such as KIX-HND-SFO are available. However, expedia does show nonstop back. We should let the new CEO Oscar know how broken UA website has been! |
United web site not working?
1 Attachment(s)
I went to login to my account on united.com and got the messsage that "The account information you entered is not valid. PINS are no longer accepted if you have updated your account security and user names and emails are currently not accepted. If you've forgotten any of your information, please use the links below for help."
I received this multiple times. I know my MP number, I did not enter a PIN but a password that I had registered when the new security came in. And there are no "links below." Anyone have an idea as to what is going on? I tried to paste the screenshot I took of this message, wouldn't work, can't seem to attach it either. Well it is there, but is rather small. |

This particular one has been around for a while. The UA RT fare is the $7k you see; if you select an Asiana option you may notice it will fare as SEA to SEL, with a stopover in KIX. This fare is much cheaper than SEA to KIX (or SFO to KIX - the fare break is used as it's cheaper on SEA:: UA SFO UA // KIX:: UA SFO UA). Cheapest two-component construction SEA-KIX is actually almost $10k.

It's possible that the United IT team, in an attempt to fix EXPERT MODE ( Expert Mode fare information missing / not displayed / not working ) broke even more!
