I've been trying to check-in for my TPAC flight for tomorrow. I get a message with both the app & website that my itinerary is not eligible for check-in on United.com.
I called the 1K line and got an offshore agent. He wanted to go over all 6 segments with me, even after I told him that I just wanted to know why I can't check-in. He wound up telling me it was a technology problem. So, did HUACA. Second agent was offshore, also. Told me the problem was because I have to scan my passport at LEAST, one more time.:confused: Does anyone know if United is having other than the usual tech problems today? Also, thought it was a little odd that I got offshore agents both times when calling just before noon. Depending on which countries you're flying to/through in Asia the passport inspection on check in may be legit. There are some places where OLCI won't work because of heightened immigration/visa requirements that they want agents to verify in person. |

Just looked up the schedule for YYZ - ORD - was looking for May 3 and 4th. United site claims that the only flight they have is at 7am on either day. Checked the app as well, and clicked on the tab for all days that week when doing the search, and got the same thing - just 7am. There should be about 7 or 8 UA/UAX nonstops a day, plus about 6 or 7 UA codeshares operated by AC.
Also, on an unrelated note - and perhaps this could use its own thread or go in the new website thread, noticed when doing an award search that the "purchase this reservation for $XXX" doesn't seem to show up any longer when part of the reservation is on UA-metal - seems like the Economy Plus essentials buy up offer page seems to replace it. Did a all international, so all partner award search, and the purchase banner did come up. So not sure if this is unintended not to have the purchase banner come up. But was definitely helpful in some situations, so a bit of a bummer its missing. |
united.com won't display UPG flights
Does anyone else have problems with getting united.com to display the flights that have R space avail? Logged in and have expert mode. Select "GPU" or "RPU" and Despite flights having R space, the grid does not show them under the "First (upgrade-eligible flights)" column -- all of these display as n/a despite some of the flights actually having R space .. even I space avail! I can see the R buckets in the flight details, but would be nice to actually have them display in the column as they should be showing.
Should note that it works sometimes (<50%) but then sometimes not. Can't seem to decipher why it works sometimes and others not. For example, SFO-IAD on 30Mar displays no flights avail. But, there's a 337pm SFO-LAX that connects to a 948pm LAXIAD both of which have R space (both individually and as married segments). But, this doesn't show as available in the "First (upgrade-eligible flights)" column. |
Help!
It's been 20 years since I've been on a 747 and wanted to get on one before they get retired from the fleet and so booked SFO-ORD RT in economy in April. Cash upgrades are available to business, but at $369OW it's just a little too steep for me. Anyway, I have my RPU's so I applied one to the ORD-SFO segment and am wait listed. After reading these forums daily it seems like I shouldn't be relying on UA IT to actually clear my RPU if R space opens up.
Anyway long story short, I would like to keep an eye on inventory and enabled expert mode but nothing is showing up. I tried all suggestions in the wiki and still nothing. Any ideas what might be causing this? Additionally, I tried using sbm12's browser extension but it gave me different results and I would like to be able to see what UA is actually saying is available. Last, my work does not allow me to be at a computer most of the day and so I'm wondering if there is any good way to check inventory on a mobile device? Thanks for any suggestions!! |

There appears presently to be a number of site issues. Had trouble logging in, base award miles in flight search is missing, attempt to make a simple SFO-ORD booking and the site errored out, ..... Appears to be very sick.

Also good luck with the upgrade - judging by the Y->J upgrade list outside of T-5 days, there are a lot of instruments being dropped on these flights. Pretty common to see over a dozen cleared names before the CPU window.

I am also having problems with expert mode. Kind of frustrating because it was working for me when I went to sleep just ~8-9 hours ago.

I am now seeing the flight buckets (expert mode) on some flights, but not others.
A quick review seems to be no buckets on United Express flights, but the buckets seem to be back on mainline flights. **Added. Spoke too soon. On some results, I am seeing buckets for UAX flights, but none for mainline. |
Gift registry totally dysfunctional, preventing folks from sending in $$ for my birthday present :(

Moderator note
See this separate, very active thread, for customer inability to access fare bucket info on n/s flights while in expert mode.

For the last 12 hours or so, I am unable to change an award reservation via the website. After selecting a new flight, the screen that usually shows the difference in miles/fees ("Review Trip Itinerary") is missing its info. And continuing on to the final screen... it's visually messed up.
This may have been broken at the same time the expert mode issue appeared. Is it only me, or anyone else experiencing this? |
Is it just me, or is there something funny going on with buying LX-operated tickets through the website? I've been trying for the last day to purchase a ticket for LHR-ZRH-NRT. I can get to the final purchase page, but after hitting 'Purchase', I get
*** We’re sorry, but united.com was unable to complete your request. Reference your confirmation number: *** and there is no confirmation number. Yesterday when I tried to call in the purchase, I was quoted a Q fare that was 3 times the cost of the ticket online. Today when I called in, I was told that united.com can only sell me a ticket operated by UA or LH ?! |
