Another UA Web site issue..advice?
 
We are planning a trip to China for about a year from now. I know I can't book it this early but I wanted to get some kind of idea of the prices and upgrade chances but when I enter all of the info using some dates that are about 8 months out and I select MUA and click search it searches for a few minutes and gives me an error message. If it don't click the MUA it gives me schedules and fares for both coach and biz class... I don't get it and while it is not a big rush now I want to be ready come April 1 to get this booked. The routing is LAS to HKG and return is PVG to LAS. Both routes go thru SFO.
Thoughts? Advice (besides waiting) I really would like to use up the almost 200,000 miles we are sitting on now..

I don't know if it's related to the new website or not but is anyone else having to call in to have a ticket reissued/revalidated every time an upgrade clears?

Most of my travel is on Y-/B-uped fares but I'm flying leisure this weekend CLE-DEN-PDX-EWR-CLE. I applied a RPU for PDX->CLE. PDX-EWR cleared almost instantaneously, but got the red text on the reservation to call UA res to have the ticket reissued. So I did.

A few weeks ago EWR-CLE cleared... and I got the red text to on the reservation to call UA res to have the ticket reissued. So I did.

Tonight I got the EUA notification that my CPU for DEN-PDX cleared (at about T-24 for that segment) and I went to re-checkin and I got this lovely:


We are unable to complete the check-in process as a valid ticket coupon cannot be found. Please contact a United representative at 1-800-UNITED-1 (1-800-864-8331) for assistance.
So I pulled up the reservation and whaddya know? Same red text. So with a single PNR I've been upgraded on 3 segments and had to call to "fix" the ticket 3 times. The agent tonight though friendly was clueless... I think she literally crashed because after I introduced myself and stated my problem there was a "give me a moment..." followed by literally four and a half minutes of silence before a "ok, what did you need again?" Total call time was 18 minutes from agent answer to hang up.

I don't remember in the past with EUA/CPU having to do anything other than recheckin to get updated boarding passes and there has to be a better way...

I've been having issues with accrual information not displaying appropriately for future flights. For example, I have a AUS-ORD roundtrip that says "This itinerary includes one or more flights that are ineligible to earn mileage or Premier qualifying credit" despite being on United Express. It is operated by Republic, so maybe that's the issue? The funny thing is that it displays correctly on the United app on my phone as well as during the booking process. The MP support staff only could offer, "call us back after the flight if it doesn't post."

Bottom line is that it's meaningless. Only reason to worry is after the PQD/PQM/RDM post on your MP account and it doesn't look right.

it never worked for partner flights. You got to click through the dates you want regardless of the color. It sucks, but better than the Delta calendar!
