The error page.

Also annoying on the flight search results page that the standard header section is not included, so you cannot jump to any specific area of the site...only back to the home page.

Expert mode

Stupid question but how do I see 'old' view of all fare buckets so I can check which flights have RPU/GPU availability?
Showing me high-level view when do search now and not fare buckets.
I have expert mode enabled

While I'm not sure about the specific answer to your question (whether it's possible to see the old view), IMO the new website is actually much better for this purpose.

If you make a search with expert mode enabled, click the word "details" toward the left side of the matrix that displays all of the fare options. The dropdown includes a listing of all the fare classes and availability.

Additionally, there's a new feature wherein you can specifically search for GPU- and RPU-eligible fares automatically. If you go into the "all search options"/advanced search page, scroll down and there's a section called "upgrade type". The results page swap out the middle column (typically showing the cheapest flexible economy fare when you're looking for economy seats) for the cheapest RPU or GPU (depending on our selection) fare. Yellow arrow in those boxes essentially means r=0 and that you'll therefore be added to the waitlist; green arrow means r>0 and you'll get upgraded upon booking.

There is, but the display function is not accurate.

You still have to search segment by segment.

When you do a search, make sure you're logged in, have expert mode on, and click the "Details" link on a segment. You'll be able to see all fare buckets.

Has anyone actually had the "check-in" widget work? Every time I login the check-in tab spins & spins and never pulls up data. I can either manually enter my confirmation code or click the option to look up a reservation with my MileagePlus number.

Yet another non-working, useless feature of the website. It would be quite useful if it actually worked. And it did used to work in beta. It's been broken for over a month for me.

Just be careful. I noticed it was pulling up Q fares, not W, which are more expensive. W was available. I started entering W for the fare search just to check the price so I knew what I should see on the search results. It is an extra step but could save you money. It didn't happen all the time which is a pain.

Also, the R availability and upgrade indicator isn't always correct. I booked a flight that said no upgrade was available even though it was R9. I booked it and manually upgraded. It was a nonstop flight.

Both the Check In and Flight Status widgets are infuriatingly useless to me:

-- Check in -- not only do I have to enter everything manually after signing in again (god forbid the website actually remembered who I am) I have to reinter it on the next page anyway

-- Flight status -- when it works only seems to pick one leg (usually but not always the first) to display status for even though the widget identifies the correct "ultimate" origin and destination (e.g. I flew RIC-EWR-CLE last week and it showed me RIC-CLE in the widget but only status for the RIC-EWR in the widget or when I looked at the detailed status...

I think I've said I really like the new booking flow with the filters/sorting/etc (when it works) but there are still a lot of loose ends...

Please fix the ability to accept a routine schedule change (as in less than 10 minutes) on-line if there is a waitlisted upgrade on either the flight affected by the schedule change or an onward leg so I don't have to call reservations to accept the schedule change

There's usually a development, testing, and release cycle that all bugfixes and new features go through, so "quickly" is relative to all bugfixes and features, most of which are more more complex than this. While it's an annoying usability issue, they don't need to rush to patch the defect. I bet the fix will go into their next release.

It's very easy to specify the tabbing order within HTML, so I'll guess that this defect will be fixed rather quickly (without moving the link).

Fixed finally! Sort of. Firefox on OS X tabs only to reasonable fields/links. However, Chrome still does everything and requires two tabs to go MP# to p/w. ^:td:

Just noticed on the mystatus.united.com page, for lounge access (I'm gold), it says:

Access to 1,000 Airport Lounges for you and a guest when you travel with any Star Alliance member airline — regardless of your class of travel1

1 Guests must enter with an eligible Star Alliance Gold customer and must depart on a Star Alliance airline, though not necessarily on the same flight. Status level benefits vary among frequent flyer programs.

--------------------

Now I'm WELL aware that it's always applied that, to get into the UA lounges, you needed to be travelling internationally or using a different *G card. But the way it is worded right now, does NOT exclude traveling on United. It explicitly says "any star alliance member" and the footnote does not exclude UA.

UA has made innumerable poor business decisions over the years. Just because they've stuck to this one doesn't say anything about whether the new site is customer-acceptable.

I absolutely detest the new site but am forced to use it because there's no other way to access reservations and account info, check for R space, etc.

The CO website was one true improvement post merger. Now they have this monstrosity that I too absolutely detest. The previous version while not particularly pretty, was extremely functional and made excellent use of screen real estate. I would pay an annual subscription to have access to the older version.

I wish the site would just remember me
