Here's an excellent link to some credible outside reporting on UA events this weekend. The indie stats on operations are dismal. [And I liked the dig at the sheep-like Chicago Tribune.]

Just as many of us predicted, the increased keystrokes needed to operate SHARES was going to produce a slowdown. That things are slow the first few days isn't the real measurement, though. If things haven't improved by the end of the first week, UA is going to have a problem.

Boarding Passes

Just an FYI - Don't belive the terminals printed in the upper right of the new OLCI boarding passes. My flight tomorrow BOS to ORD says:

"Flights operated by United & United Express arrive and depart Boston (BOS) Terminal A."

This is not true. Flights to PMCO destinations at A, PMUA destinations are C. My understanding is the combination of operations at BOS is still a year or more away due to gate space issues.

The gate printed on the OLCI BP is in the ballpark (it's a C gate).

Wait times on premier 1K line are getting much, much better ... 30 mins last night at midnight ... under 5 mins today at about noon ... agents are calm, cooperative and eager to actually ferret out correct answers and not simply insist everything is fine, please go away.

So far, congrats on what is unquestionably a spectacularly complex integration all done without actually shutting down for a couple of days.

Missing Premier 1K Status on Boarding Pass

1K flyer here flying tomorrow ORD-LGA. Logged on and checked in and boarding pass doesnt have status and has me in Boarding Group 6.

I finally reached 1K desk and they and web support couldn't figure it out and I would need to have "GA figure it out for me tomorrow morning"

Anyone else have this issue?

Who knows new # for web support?

FriendlySkies Mar 4, 2012 3:24 pm

Just checked in at LGA for a flight to IAD.. PMUA agents were mentioning what a pain the cutover has been. Took 10 minutes to print BPs, too. And my friends BP (she's 1K and F) printed with group 5

This makes no sense. :td:

The united.com/appreciation site is working properly as of just now.

it's the opposite of what i want. i want to send a big thank you to the UA/CO folk who are managing to keep us all traveling pretty much on schedule through one of the biggest systems mergers ever. we should send take-away yummy food to the dungeons where they are all working.

Cruise Speed:647 mph
Propulsion:Two Pratt and Whitney PW4056-III engines, rated at 56,750 pounds of thrust each

I know PMCO didn't have four engine aircraft, but this is unacceptable.

In Australia we regularly see UA 747's with only two working engines

List of lounges incorrect on new web site - all RCCs missing

Not a big deal, but I noticed that the list of lounges at http://united.com/web/en-US/content/...s/default.aspx does not include ex-RCCs... it's ex-PCs only!!

I have emailed UA Insider.

You can't on the current United.com (though you could on PMCO's site, so I suspect that will be coming soon).

You can use the mobile app, though--which you can do even on a regular computer via the mobile.united.com site IIRC--to look at the standby and upgrade waitlists within 24 hours of departure.

I do hope that the new United.com eventually adds a "waitlisted" indicator even if they don't show the actual list for flights > 24 hours away, which is something the old United.com had.
