Is this the new standard procedure?

I was in Paris last week and received the following: "Thank you for choosing Auto Check-in for your upcoming United Airlines flight. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide your boarding passes at this time.

Please complete your check-in at the airport on your day of departure. We apologize for this inconvenience."

I wasn't aware I'd chosen auto-check in, though I would have been fine with it. I checked in online a few minutes later, no problem (except for the vanishing upgrade list.)

Is it the return of a round-trip? When you check in for the outbound of a round-trip, I think there's a checkbox to automatically try to check you in for the return 24 hours beforehand.

Two flights (one from 3/4, one from 3/7) have not posted.

I went online and entered the ticket numbers.
For the 3/4 flight (PAID M fare), the site told me the "fare class is not eligible for MileagePlus miles."

For the 3/7 flight (PAID B fare) - first flight of an itinerary in which the second segment HAS posted, I got the message "This ticket number can not be verified. Please return to Mileage Credit Request and enter a valid ticket number. Or you may contact the MileagePlus Service Center at 1-800-421-4655."

I am NOT calling MP. Last time I was on hold for 75 minutes to try and get back a CR1 that "disappeared" in the merger.

So, what else can I do? E-mail UAInsider?
Just wait a few weeks and hope it all gets sorted out?

I am really trying to be patient, but my experiences since the merger have been exceptionally frustrating.

I used this feature two weeks ago. Really convenient.

I normally use it, but will take a pass on using it with my flights this week as I'd like to see what TOD offer I'm inevitably going to get :D

I just noticed the Baggage Fee Exception information is missing from the checked baggage fee page.

If this is the return leg and at checking in for the initial outbound flight the checkbox for automatically checking in for remaining flights was selected -- this would be the standard procedure. This was a pre-existing feature of the CO.com site.

You have the option of selecting multiple ways to receive the BP.

***looks like I just repeated what Alpha Golf (and then others) posted in http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/18229054-post2297.html

When checking post-March 3 profile information, some people (including myself) noticed that the language preferences switched for us.

You can change it at this link:
Regional and Langauge Preferences

[Long way around to get to this page, in case it doesn't work: from the "My Account" page, navigate to "Manage Profile" (gray box), then scroll down to "Regional Preferences" and check the language listed there. You can then click the link to edit "Regional and Language Preferences."]

There's a small security bug with the new website:

httpS://www.united.com forwards to http://pss.united.com rather than https://pss.united.com

I have two flights posted as:
Activity Date Description Miles/Points Award Miles Bonus Total Miles Segments
3/7/2012 Air Canada 7734L
Ottawa-New York (LGA) L / L 329 329 1
3/6/2012 Air Canada 7731L
New York (LGA)-Ottawa L / L 329 329 1

This appears to have 3 issues:
- No minimum 500 mile credit despite being Platinum
- No premier miles
- Premier segments haven't added to my total

What was the operator and fare class? If I read your post right it looks like the flight numbers were 7734 and 7731 and they were L fares. If a code share it may not have been Air Canada but a partner so accrual rules may be different. If was actually Air Canada metal and L fares you should have gotten the 500 minimum and PQM/PQS.

Thanks, that must have been it, mine was switched to Spanish. Although the messages I quoted were in "Spanglish" :)

Do Both! The Auto gives you the best time stamp for the upgrade tiebreaker,
And just reprint your boarding pass once at the airport for the best TOD's!

Phoned Mileage Plus and confirmed it was an error and they have now fixed the 500 minimum, Platinum bonus, PQM accrual and PQS accrual (which has posted as negative). I hope this isn't an indication of things to come, I have better things to do than spend 30 mins on the phone to fix a system error.

Electronic travel certificates. Certificates are now redeemable on united.com. One case worth noting - certificates still cannot be redeemed online when the total price of the ticket is less than the value of the certificate (Resolved)
Not resolved. I had a $500 CO ETC from Feb. Used it online for a $154 flight and the website handled it as normal. Got the email, wait for ticketing etc. But then the reservation page gave an error "This reservation is not ticketed. Complete this purchase now." An agent saw there was no ETC pin, and attached it, the flight ticketed right away. But the ETC then showed the price of the ticket was deducted twice.

Now I have an agent painfully trying to fix it. Get your programmers to set up a tool to transfer ETCs to travel bank. The travel bank actually works.
