I am still confused on this subject...based on some information from the UA Insider Responds thread...
We know now instruments cannot be used for upgrades < 24 hours, including at the airport, if inventory is not available. That is, you can't be placed on the WL. Can instruments be used within 24 hours AND also at the airport IF the applicable inventory space is available? |

Is this correct, that instruments cannot be used on ps or international flights within 24 hours or in the event of involuntary IRROPS?
More fully discussed in http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...-upgrades.html (inlcuding recent comments from UA Insider ) |

This has to be a priority to get fixed. IRROPS is where you win or lose customers. |
Unable to change seats after OLCI
I checked in online and am now unable to change my seats. Is this by design?
http://i.imgur.com/s7cgb.png Sorry to have given you a screenshot for ants. |
I haven't used OLCI post 3/3, however on the old site once you checked-in you couldn't use the Change Seats function to change seats, but you could check-in all over again and then change seats. Not sure how the new site works.
|
you cant change seats like on the old united website -go to checkin online and you can change/choose your seats after rechecking in - you may get a pleasant surprise for an upgrade or purchase of extra eqm - mine went from a $5731 upgrade from Y to F from SFO-SYD to a $1729 upgrade from Y to C on a fully booked flight -chose the Y to C upgrade and after boarding was upgraded to F for SFO-SYD Saved myself almost $4000
Mixed feeelings about the new United - ill have to bite my tongue and give them time - any process like this must ne a monumental task to achieve , and like anything one needs to expect some hiccups - as long as the yare corrected, thts the most important thing - I do prefer the old United site to the new United site but the only thing we can be sure of in life is change - so lets try and adapt |
Mr. Ericka suddenly has one of those "negative" previous balances which is bringing down his PQMs. Are we supposed to report these things? Or do we just hang tight for a few days and see what happens?

I'm still not sure if my balance is correct. None of my flights between 1/30 and 2/27 (Exclusive) are showing up in my statement but the 2012 conversions to PQM and PQS posted on 3/3 with a lump amount. I blew it by not taking screenshots before the merger so I'm not sure if this includes all those flights (2x-4x per week) in Feb?
Followup Question: I'm still not sure what's going on with my status. .bomb and the iphone app both show me as a Premier 1K. My tickets (physical or electrionic) each week also reflect this and have Premier 1K on them. I'm also able (I think, it doesn't seem to route me somewhere else and I don't want to stay on and clog up the lines just to ask which desk I was connected to) to connect to the 1K line using my new MP # (old CO Plat #). However, I received a Premier Gold card in the mail a week or two ago. Additionally, my place on the upgrade list has dropped dramatically since 3/3 for the same flights I've been taking each week which makes me think it's using the Gold status while everything else seems to be using 1K (my boarding group is always 1 for instance). I requested a status match through my company which should have kept me at 1K, however it seems like I have two statuses floating around, depending on which system is in question. While I'm happy with BG1 each week, I'd be much happier with a higher place on the UG list! Not sure if this is something that's still getting ironed out or what? |
TIP: If your primary phone number is not recognized by the VRU
I solved my problem of my primary phone number not being recognized by the VRU and here's what I discovered.....
PMUA:
COdbaUA: All accounts set up as above with all information migrated over correctly but my cell number as my primary number in my MP profile is NOT recognized by the VRU :td: Solution: I deleted my cell number from the profiles for goalie-mom, goalie-dad and goalie-sis and my cell number is now recognized by the VRU (and the change to being recognized was immediate) ^. So if you are having similar problems, I suggest taking a look at the profiles of your spouse, S/O or other person where you might have your primary number listed as a back-up/alternate number. I'm glad I solved the problem but to be frank, I don't like this system limitation* it as it's a very vital piece of information/point of contact that I need when my family is traveling. :td: *it worked PMUA so why not under COdbaUA? |

You can view your MP history under 'my account' (shows MP & OP histories separately pre-integration) via drop-down menus -- and you should see the flight detail there (encompassing the 'lump' EQM/RDM migration).@:-)

Ah, thank you sir/madame. Makes a little more sense, will have to do some excel export to make sure it all ties out. Appreciate it!
