How about a 6-month expiration extension on all existing GPU's and RPU's?

To me that is the really shocking thing.

When all of this is squared away there will likely be lots of words of apology, like a full page ad in the New York Times (or something like that). There will likely be little in the way of remuneration or concessions.

I have a friend who books tours for a living. She is bereft with problems from tours booked on United or Continental. The merger resulted in double-bookings and multi-hour phone calls to square everything away.

United owes apologies to more than just elites - it owes it to the whole travel industry as well.

Solved (I hope for now)

*it's a good thing I'm out of work as I don't think there's any employer in the world that would let you spend that much time on the phone

**e-certs which the agent said now showed as used  were re-instated (or a dummy cert was used) and the ticket price went up by $0.10 on each segment but what's a net of $0.70 after all this mess ;)

Now I will say this-major kudos to the agent at the Electronic Support Desk as she worked it to the max and kept apologizing for it taking so long but she wanted to get it all fixed at once and stayed on the line with me until the reservations showed ticketed ^^^

By "existing", you mean the ones that show up on the balance, or the ones that have been eaten up by the system and not returned yet? You know, the ones you can call about and wait until you reach retirement age (or get dumped off the line altogether), or that you can email about, get a "thanks for your email, we appreciate your business" response as you can almost hear the electronic trash can swallow your message?

Sorry for being sarcastic - I don't have any other suppliers whose web sites generates "too many redirections" errors, whose phones don't answer, and who are the object of 165-page forum rants.

Colleague of mine flew YUL-ORD-SAN 2 days ago - reservation with UA, 1st leg with AC. Check-in with AC, no trace of the link to the UA portion. 45 mins at the counter for the AC person to try and see what the [expletive deleted] was wrong with the reservation, most of which on the phone with a UA agent. We're not talking about March 4th, we're talking about close to 3 weeks post-merger. We're not talking about some obscure clause in a FF program, we're talking about a simple connection. What a mess.

I note the comment that CPUs are claimed to be processing in the correct order. With all the discussion of TOD upgrades (specifically those that price well below the fare difference from booked fare to M or B as called for) this would seem to imply that UA is actually intending to offer TOD upgrades while elites are still pending from CPU upgrades. This would be in direct contradiction to the earlier post from UA Insider. So - can we get a follow-up clarification from UA Insider on this?

Between last night and today, my redeemable mileage balance just dropped by over 200,000 miles for no rhyme or reason. Anyone else experience something similar?

GPU/SWU processing Glitch

4th segment since March 3:
- 1 SWU upgrade cleared.
- 1 SWU upgrade did not clear due to availability. GPU redeposited after a long telephone session.
- 1 Mileage upgrade cleared.
- My current upgrade did not clear at T-24, neither has it made it to the airport upgrade list. The 1K line tried and told me that they were told that the airport checkin agent can clear it. I have not seen any pigs flying outside my hotel window yet - I am therefore bracing myself for 12 hours in coach on a flight where upgrades were available (and I was flying on an M fare).

Good Job UA
Thanks for giving me the merger blues:mad:

Update: At T-3 someone removed the blockage and I moved on to the waitlist and eventually cleared. Life looks much better from a BF seat on NRT->EWR :)

Thanks to all the agents who tolerated my rant and to whoever fixed the glitch^

Happy Travels
DLP

Just called MP in a near panic. Was asked if I printed out my balance from yesterday showing 200,000 miles more than I have currently--why in the world would I have done that, just in case I happen to be cheated out of 200,000 miles the following day? Put on hold for 30 mins, and then was told "there's still a lot of kinks in the system" and to wait until 4/1, when the problems should be corrected.

Up until now, I had been relatively less affected by some of the merger problems than some have (as a 1K, have rarely had more than a 2-3 min wait for either the reservations or MP lines vs. the 30-60+ initial waits before answering that some report), but losing 200,000 miles overnight is something that is definitely going to get my attention!

I have actually started making a printout after every single MP activity posting, because I have so little faith that they're ever going to get the system fixed. Oh, it may eventually work correctly, but I get the feeling that each little sweep to "correct" already-posted miles has the potential to cause even more havoc.

Pick up any particular significance to April First? ;)

Took 30 secs to connect to 1Kvoice but 40 mins to resolve GPU on Hawaii-EWR flight

I have the unfortunate opportunity to have to call the 1Kvoice line to request for a GPU on the HNL-EWR flights R/T which was supposedly reported to be able to do it online. But I guess its my ETC from United that has prevented it. (Guess)

I was actually surprised to have got thru to an agent within 30 secs of connecting in the morning. The agent was quicked to apply my GPU waitlist to my outbound, no problem (took only 9 mins) but the system just would not allowed him to apply my 2nd GPU waitlist to the return. He went to check and claimed that it was due to the flight being Businessfirst and my fare code being T. I have an outbound "W" ticket. I reminded him that the flight is no longer BusinessFirst and fare restrictions on GPU usage have been removed post 3/3 integration for HNL - IAH/EWR/DEN/IAD and I even brought up the fact that I traveled on 3/4 on a HNL to IAH using a RPU for the upgrades. He went to check with his supervisor and came back to insist that the policy is no GPU upgrades on my return segment and asked me whether I would like to speak with his supervisor. I agreed. The supervisor came online and apologized to me that he has stated the wrong policy but do acknowledged that the system still do not allow him to process the GPU correctly. But he went ahead and waitlisted me on the return and send in a queue message to the special handling desk to figure out the return. :D

Hello,

My miles on United Express flights are not being posted or are very delayed. I see miles for subsequent United flights that I've taken being posted but I'm still waiting on my miles for UA Express taken about a week ago.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

No express flights have posted to my account since 3/3. I have many multi segments where only UA metal is posting.

SGF-DEN on 03/12 not posted, DEN-SGF on 03/16 posted within 3 days.
Both United Express

I'm in the exact situation. Only the UA metal segments are posting and the United Express segments missing. Allegedly a request has been put in per the CSR that I spoke with. I'm not holding my breath...
