I am sure it is bound to be a screw-up. Have you tried logging in to see what your status shows online?

Good idea. ^ No, we can't find any indication that we're checked in, just the usual "ticketed and confirmed" as per other future reservations. Of course, we're not as familiar with the new site as we were with the former UA site.

We're not seated together on one leg IAD-ORD. The config changed from 767 to 757 and I'm unable to move my seat online anywhere else in the F cabin.

I sense it's going to be a long 19 hours of flying tomorrow.

faster than a speeding bullet

My upgrade DEN-LAX cleared Sunday right at the 96 hour window and because I monitor (fare codes had been showing R9 RN9 so I was expecting the clearance) I was able to do my seat selection immediately. Great.

Interestingly I had not received email notification that my upgrade had cleared until today. UA sent the email at 12:36pm today - just about 21 hours after the upgrade had cleared.

At least I got a notification. In the last few months my notifications have been sporadic at best.

I do miss not having the option of text notification. That is much more conventient for me than email.

Denis, I think on ua.com in your profile there is an option to set a telephone contact number as a mobile number (as opposed to home, or work for example). If you do that, and select that number as the way to contact you, instead of email as the primary mode of contact, the site states that a text alert will be sent to you.

I haven't flown or tried to upgrade anything since I set up my new profile, so I have to admit that I'm not sure it actually works as advertised. ;)

I don't know how this works or doesn't work now. Flying UA SFO to IAH to SJO and my friend from SYD-LAX-IAH-SJO I apply a regional, he nothing and has no status. My regional does not clear on any segment, he is upgraded on same IAH-SJO segment for no apparent reason.

Should not an instrument trump a non mileage plus member with no instrument? What the heck is going on?

2 weeks and counting ...

I am yet to hear back re: approx 1000 miles that appear to have gone missing after 03/03 (contacted them via email, since it wasn't terribly important and didn't want to clog up the phone). Fortunately, I took screen dumps before 03/03 and will wait another 2 weeks before trying to call them.

Is 1K the new Silver?

Maybe it has been covered already but I have not read the whole 156 pages of this thread. So apology in advance.

I just purchased a roundtrip to LHR at united. com and applied SWU (should I call Global Premier Upgrade, I guess?) immediately. "Service Charge" was waived, but I was still asked to pay $61. What is it for? I have never seen this sort of charge PMUA. My upgrade is still wait listed. I assume if it doesn't clear, the fee will be returned?

you find this discussed in http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...-lhr-swus.html

Potential fees are now being collected in advance and then refunded if not cleared

Here's a new "feature" I discovered today: Unticketed flights do not automatically appear under My Reservations. On the legacy United site they showed up immediately, enabling quick seat selection (since the company travel program won't allow selection E+ or exit seats). DTS policy is that the flight won't be ticketed until three business days prior to the trip (unless you ask for sooner), so until then I must enter my reservation code and last name every time I want to see the flight.

Still missing two RPUs that didn't clear from a 3/2 flight with my wife, 17,500 miles that didn't clear for an award upgrade on a 3/10 flight (for my wife), and mileage for the second segment of my travel on 3/10. The first flight (on which I got a CPU) posted as a Z fare with 150% PQM (1.5 PQS) and 50% RDM bonus. Now that detailed activity is gone from my account, but the mileage totals still reflect it. So bizarre.

Good ol' DTS. I've found that even though they have the 3 day policy, if you call Sato (or whomever you go through) they will ticket it early. Agree that the new "feature" is super annoying though!!

Sure your new MP# is there? I made two reses today, unticketed and both were there in seconds.

But I snagged the good seats, so you're too late.

Charged 12,500 miles for < 700 mile reward

Booked a r/t award ticket, non-stop each way < 700 miles. Outbound in IN (saver F), return in XN (saver econ.). The receipt says:

MileagePlus Miles Debited/Award Used:
37500/YB20N-YC20N
The return should be 10,000 miles, but I was charged 37,500 miles r/t. Had I booked two one-ways it would have been 2500 miles cheaper. The MP agent says that the 10,000 mile price does not apply when the return is not in economy, but cannot tell me why. She also told me the 700 mile thing is a "promotion".

I would just cancel and re-book, but one of the flights is no longer available.

Update: The agent talked to a supervisor who supposedly would be able to credit the 2500 miles, but that he would have to wait 1 hour or more to talk to a MileagePlus agent. The agent said the supervisor would email me when he was done.

Update 2: A 2,500 mile adjustment appeared in my account! ^

Also, you can have any trip you want appear in your reservations list by being logged on, finding it via it PNR, and then clicking the "save to my reservations" link. My reservations currently includes all of mine plus two of my brother's and 3 of my wife's. Makes it much easier to monitor other trips when you are playing family TA.

UA Insider can we get a clear update on why MP is asking for Pin numbers and/or password to do anything when calling in.

If this is new airline combined policy; can we please get this listed somewhere (e.g. that you must setup a PIN if you don't want to give your password). This has security issues ALL over it.

Funny my unticketed (on hold for changes or waiting on me to confirm) agency tickets show up RIGHT away as long as the agency uses my original MP#, if they use the OP/New United# they don't show up till ticketed.

FWIW, used auto check-in feature for return EWR-ATL on Saturday. When went to print BP, got offer to UG for $79 (had $439 slashed out). I guess that is TOD.....

I have my mobile selected, however the FAQs say that only flight changes (delays, cancellations, gate change, etc) will be delivered. Nothing about upgrades.
