Posting of GPUs and RPUs

I just crossed the threshold to earn 2 GPUs and 2 RPUs. They posted the same day as the flight. Pre 3/3 had to wait for the next sweep. ^

I almost missed this due to the HKG hoopla currently going on, but...

Since when did the Upgrade Standby list start working on united.com?! We don't need to visit the mobile site to see it anymore!!

I just booked a 10,000 mile award ticket, those miles were immediately deducted from my account.

I then canceled a 37,500 mile award ticket (for August travel), those miles were not returned to my account even though the confirmation screen said they were:
1 award 37,500 miles
Additional $10.00
Total Refund 37,500 Miles and
$10.00
Redeposit Fee* $0.00
I'm angry. And based upon what I've read here, I guess it probably still is useless to try to get Customer service to correct this for the time being?

Did the $10 show back up on your credit card? I also noticed on my award cancellations the miles post as a credit on the day you initially took the award not the day you canceled it. I'd check the detailed activity section.

Yes, this fooled me once too...

Miles had redeposited, but were re-credited to my account back in January (when I had originally booked the award).

Regardless, the premier line (in my experience) has been very helpful and helped me to track down questions and resolve my issues.

I'll check these things; but note that my current balance did not increase by 37,500 miles as it should have after I canceled the award.

It is a two step process:
Cancell and then refund
Have you done both steps?

Interesting, because the process I completed yesterday said it was cancelling my tickets and redepositing my miles. But today I did find the reservation under canceled tickets and repeated the process requesting refund - again I was asked if I wanted to cancel the ticket and redeposit the miles, I said yes, and this time it really did redeposit the miles.

I wonder what happened with the other tickets I canceled, because I didn't go through the Step 2 process yet those reservations don't appear under canceled tickets. It doesn't seem like I lost miles, but I can't find any record of them. One of them still has a single flight that shows up in my active itinerary list even though I canceled the reservation a long time ago (but cannot find any record of the cancellation anywhere.) When I click on the button for the receipt page I see it is gone though, it just shows the message: "We were unable to process your eTicket receipt". There is no "refund" option either but then again it doesn't appear I lost miles.

That's good to know! I have two flights upgraded to F and I was worried about PQM posting accurately due to the ON fare code attached to it.

1K blocked out of E+ on seat map

Mrs IainC (also 1K) recently booked an international saver award ticket in Y on my MP account. When we tried to reserve seats in E+ on United.com the seat maps only allow the option of selecting seats in E. On all flights E+ is wide-open so no problems there. Very annoying, especially after the frustrations of trying to book this award itinerary on 1K line in the first place.

Is there any way to correct this anomaly online without having to call 1K or whatever dysfunctional call line it is now?

Does her MP # show up on the itin? I've had times where the phone agents either didn't enter it or dropped it from an existing itin. You should be able to add it online if that's the case, without having to call in.

Hi exerda,
Yep tried that as the traveller information listed my MP number (not that that should matter as I am 1K). However, despite numerous attempts to insert Mrs IainC's details when I submit and check, it always defaults to mine. I guess no alternative but call to fix this up.

Booking award seats for others (premier or not), mileage owner MP number and status stays on that booking/ticket, attempting to change the number doesn't work. Since both are 1k, pre-selecting E+ should be straight forward. If seat map doesn't allow you, it's either system error or flight doesn't have E+ available. If this is website error as you seem to suggest, unfortunately you need to call in to get E+ selected.
