One small UDU Success--RPU prioritized

I just wanted to report one success with the new system. I just checked in for my flight tomorrow. I had waitlisted an RPU that didn't clear. It appears that it has correctly prioritized my instrument in the UDU waitlist online. How do I know? As a Plat flying out of SFO, I'm never anywhere near the top normally. Nice to know that this feature works.

Sadly F is supposedly full already, so it may not make any difference for me.

However, if you ever see that you are #1 on the list with one seat left, you need to remember that the GAs may be keeping their own list, and there are good reasons they are.
I hope this question does not appear to be sarcastic. I don't mean it to be.

If the list visible to me the customer is sometimes inaccurate as you describe, what's the point of having it?

I totally agree. The systems are really awful. They have a choice of misinforming people or disadvantaging other people. At this point a little misinformation seems the superior solultion.

I went to the new united.com (old continental.com) to book flights to Oslo from IAD in December--realizing that I can't find anything about upgrading now but at least I can get a W fare. So I entered leaving late evening and got a full list of all connections during the day and finally found the 9:56 departure from IAD to FRA with a connection. Selected that flight and then looked for the requested early morning return about 5 days later. The only option I got (tried this three times) was a late night departure involving an overnight stay in FRA.

Anyone in charge of the website?

UGH!
Certainly a website error and not correct. "K" fare is obviously accrue able according to United Fare information:

https://pss.united.com/CMS/en-US/Mar...es/united.aspx

This is one page I print out and keep on a bulletin board next to my desk.

If the trip was in the last say week or so, I'd wait a few more days and see if they shake out the posting of the miles/segments.

if not, then perhaps call in, but it sounds like given the still very high call volumes to wait at least a few days.

Good Luck!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

This is unreal. I just had my return flight post... The RdMs posted correctly, the outbound did not post. The PQM posted in the NEGATIVE.

I don't know if your specific special meal request has been carried over, but don't assume that "No Special Meal Offered" means that no special meals are offered. Confused yet?
Just called to confirm that the requested special meal carried over to my reservation for SFO-NRT but was told the Japanese meal may not be an option...the agent tried several times and she could not add to my reservation. The other option she offered me was the Asian Vegetarian meal...

Seems like we're going backwards again. My year to date PQM which was accurate except for unposted flights after 3/4, are now off by 120,000+. I,m trying to be patient but this is really getting to me now.

Ridiculous. Flights still missing. Then a random one posts with a negative PQM balance. Honestly no one on the phones knows anything. Have PMd Insider. Extremely frustrated. About to stop flying UA all together until this stuff stops happening.

See, here it is: (Bolding = PQM)

Beginning Balance as of 02/06/2012: 0 (3,597) 0
Airline Activity: 14,469 68,178 28
Non Airline Activity: 195,841 - -
Award Activity: (52,500) - -
Ending Balance as of 03/14/2012: 157,810 64,581 28

As the 3,597 PQM were applied, they were then removed from the "as of 2/6/12" total, thus when all is said and done, the RDMs were posted properly, the PQMs were, but then they were some how mysteriously deducted from the 2/6 total. What the heck is going on?

And why didn't my outbound post? Why does it say I cant' request credit? I am absolutely at my wits end, it's been almost two weeks since the integration!!

And was this yet another case of an ON fare?

The system is correcting flights after March 6 to the PMUA miles between two points. Maybe they have to do something counterintuitive like subtract the original credit, and add the revised flight credit.

The solution may be to take a lesson from your 401(k) and not watch it every day, unless you need the miles now because you're trying to use them. Unfortunately, I am trying to use mine.

Maybe if they "have to" do that, they can inform us of that before they do so? And the 3/5 flight was the ON flight, the 3/7 was not. The 3/5 flight didn't show up at all despite MP assuring me that it was resubmitted.

They credited the PQM and RDM for the return flight only, and then the PQM were then TAKEN AWAY following that. The 3/5 is a seperate issue of where NOTHING posted at all despite MPSC assuring me the ON issue was taken care of.

The 3/7 PQM were deducted from the "pre 2/06/12" totals for no reason at all. None. And the 3/5 are still missing. I am tired of no communication. Explain why this is continually happening over and over again, and it's getting worse. I'm not giving UA another dime until they fix it.

I dunno; I think a hidden, virtual list maintained by GAs is a terrible idea... good for a short-term workaround, perhaps, but the lack of transparency and potential for abuse (upgrading people out-of-order for whatever reason), for passenger dissatisfaction ("But it says I'm #1 with 3 seats remaining--what do you mean, I didn't clear?"), for inconsistency between how different GAs handle such a "list," all make it less than desirable as a policy.

1K desk refusing help because they "can't see" that they were taken away. This is outrageous. I am not paying them another cent until the account is fixed.

Smells fishy...

For the first time in 2 years, I have NOT cleared to the C cabin on p.s. JFK-SFO (Thursday's 0389). I've never had trouble clearing this route before, even at busy times. I find it hard to believe that many Globals were ahead of me and/or that many bought out First and Business.

I'm also waitlisted on my return flight this Sunday. I feel like a 2P all over again. I just find it hard to believe this is not a system change-related issue.

I have very low expectations for tomorrow's flight. Hopefully I'll have a familiar crew to b*tch and moan with over drinks.

Confirmed issues related to systems change:
.Boarding Group prints as 1 (I'm GS)
.Received my new MP card 1.5 weeks late; and it's for 1K, not GS
phone line forces us to listen to a man blab on and on about how wonderful MileagePlus is; before the change over, I rarely even heard the GS phone line ring.
.when I do get an agent on the GS line, they have very limited control and access to information about what's going on. I feel bad for them.

!!
+1 Here. 3 flights post-3/3 finally posted, except they all posted as NEGATIVE PQM prior to 2/6. What is going on?

Beginning Balance as of 02/06/2012: 170,082 (4,375) 0
Airline Activity: 12,020 46,626 43
Non Airline Activity: 272,410 - -
Award Activity: 45,000 - -
Ending Balance as of 03/14/2012: 499,512 42,251 43

Also, a 258 mile UA Express flight posted with actual flight miles (not the 500 mile minimum), no 1K bonus, and no PQM. I truly was one of the biggest UA fans around and have been as patient as I possibly can be, but I'm getting really tired of this whole situation.
