[/B]UA Insider , can you please confirm this. 15 minutes ago,I called 1K desk to book an international Tix. I indicated to the agent once ticketed I would like to use my GPU since there was RN/R seat available.
I was told as of today,I will not be able to request international upgrades until after 31 March when the issue will be fixed, because both the online upgrade system & agents can see GPUs in my account, however cannot pull them.
It was Elite Houston call center Agent.
I decide not to go ahead with my booking of course.
Is this a new bug?

On Upgrade unrelated: On old United Site one could view Upgrade History. Will New United Site offer it or is that option now history?
This is really bad news.

On Upgrade related: CO site never had upgrade summary, showing where upgrade instruments were deposited, applied to whose reservation, on which date, for what flight, the expiration date, etc. Everything is in black box. CO prefers to keep people in dark. If your GPU is pulled twice, there is no trace. Upgrade instruments may not return to your account if upgrade doesn't clear. You need to babysit everything.

Yeah, if there is an issue, you have to call One Pass SC and expect long wait.

On my upcoming flight tomorrow on SN my status is still printed as *G, while united.com is showing "member". Member is correct, the information the partner airline got seems to be outdated.

There was me thinking that it would be sorted out by the time I next take a flight (27/3) but I am beginning to have my doubts. When I look at the seat map of the flight too (and I seem, so far, to have stayed in the correct seats) there are some odd things happenings with tons of availability one day, not as much the next, then repeat. Very odd, I know it changes but I watch my seats all the time and this is an unusual pattern in my opinion. Will watch it like a hawk.

I called MPSC yesterday; waited less than one minute to connect, and the agent was extremely helpful and fixed my issue in a timely manner.

YMMV.

Hmmm.. I have a flight on Thursday that is showing R9 and RN9. No upgrades issued, as far as I can tell.

Time for a PM to UAInsider, I guess.

I am a 1K. This case study began on March 10 within the 96 hour window for upgrades for 1Ks.

With 26 hours to go before my first flight, RN is 9 and nothing has changed. No upgrades at all have been processed within the windows by the computer system for processing CPUs automatically.

With under 44 hours to go before my return flight, nothing has changed. RN is 9 and no upgrades at all have been processed within the windows by the computer system for processing CPUs automatically.

I will give an update within 24 hours to go before my first flight.
You mention that there have been no upgrades processed within your windows. This is not how the new UA system works. The CPU system processes upgrades at the windows (120, 96, 72, 48, 24, dynamic after check-in til check-in closes), and only at the windows. If upgrades are not processed at these exact windows, nothing happens between the windows (which is what used to happen pmUA.

Now, if there is inventory available at the windows, and the upgrades aren't being processed (which is what I think you are saying), then there clearly is a problem.

I was able to successfully request an upgrade for two itineraries from US to Costa Rica (DEN-IAH-SJO return SJO-IAH-DEN). The two outbound legs were upgraded right away and the return had one leg confirmed upgrade and one leg waitlisted. Not the most 'international' of flights and used RPU, but just another data point.

Cuse44 You will need to go back and read the entire case study I submitted to UAInsider on March 10, and I have periodically updated within this thread.

What I am saying is that it is clear that NO CPUs are clearing at all by the computer system within the various windows for Premier members, beginning with GS at 120 hours out, even though there is inventory available for upgrades to occur. I have monitored this situation very closely for many days.

I last updated that I would give another update within 24 hours out, which I will do next after I have responded to your post now.

Yes, there clearly is a problem with Upgrades within the windows, as has been reported by others in this thread. That is why UAInsider is looking at my case study, along with some others that have been submitted by FTers. UA management is trying to use solid data to investigate why this problem is occurring with flights.

The CPU system does not run within the various windows. It only runs at the windows. So if for some reason CPU doesn't run at 120hrs for GS, it won't run again until T-96 for GS and 1K, and so on and so forth.

There isn't a problem within the window because the system does not work that way. It only runs at the windows.

I guess what I am trying to say is that if there is availability at the windows and CPU doesn't process, then that is a problem. If there is space within a window, then it is not a problem because the system only runs at windows.

I had two SWUs (sorry, GPUs) that were originally transferred from UA to CO, and applied to a CO operated itinerary, including a flight operating 3/3. Both upgrades failed to clear, but the SWUs didn't come back. A call to the 1K number yesterday got someone within two minutes (promised 30 minute wait) and after 15 minutes on hold with the agent, the SWUs came back.

What I'm less clear about is why a miles+copay upgrade has been charged to my credit card, but the upgrade has not cleared.

Say it however you wish...the CPUs are NOT occurring for GS, Premier 1K, Premier Plat, Premier Gold, Premier Silver whenever the sweeps occur.

Please go reread the rest of my posts in this case study so you can "understand" the problem...don't just respond to one post. I have checked the inventories just before each 24 hour time for each subsequent Premier level and there has been RN9. As a 1K, I should have been upgraded with a CPU at 96 hours. Other Premier members should have also been upgraded at their times.

"you will earn up to"

Looking at my res the number seemed high. The total includes flights which are waitlisted for upgrade. Assume this is a intergration issue. Plus 1.
