They have cloned Shannon. His name is Carlos. ^

Now they need to clone Carlos, too!

On the top of the record in the Reservation Tools there should be an upgrade option (near the options for change flights). IF NOT your record is assuming something is not upgradable or editable. Only thing you can do then is call reservations.

UA Insider: Has there be any info on reservations like the two above where they cannot see "Upgrade" as an option? Seems like new res's made post merger are OK but ones made pre-merger don't offer upgrades online

Interesting. I just checked a few of my reservations and on ones where upgrades don't make sense (award ticket) the upgrade choices aren't available whereas on ones where upgrades do make sense I see the buttons. Sounds like you have a somehow broken record - what a surprise. Bummer.

I just called to have my reservations that are reflecting (ON) on domestic upgrade legs changed to reflect (R) fare class. These are all paid tickets, and upgraded using RPU/GPU instruments.

Agent needed to go to support desk to get it done, but the hold time wasn't too long.

If you use any kind of e-cert, dollar off, or 20% off, the ticket won't show upgrade link.

Tickets were purchased after 3/3.

There are other cases people reported as well.

PM'ed UA Insider but received no response.

I guess that explains it. I used an e-cert and made my reservation on 3/5. Well I still have about a month before my flight so, I'll try again next week to see if anything has been fixed.

I don't want to waste a GPU on the short section. If the ORD-HNL doesn't clear within a few days of the flight, can I redeposit the GPU and take my chances on a CPU on the short segment?
AFAIK, you just need to call the 1k desk & ask them to withdraw the GPU from your PNR (any time before the flt) & redeposit it back into your a/c.

I'd imagine that that would only happen if original booking class was still available on the cleared portion of the itinerary

Update on CPU case study reported by PM to UAInsider on Mar. 10

As noted above in my posts 1753,1827, 1912, this case study has been submitted to UAInsider and is one of several that management is looking at to determine what the problems are with the computer not processing CPUs within upgrade windows with inventory available for the upgrade.

I am a 1K. This case study began on March 10 within the 96 hour window for upgrades for 1Ks.

With 26 hours to go before my first flight, RN is 9 and nothing has changed. No upgrades at all have been processed within the windows by the computer system for processing CPUs automatically.

With under 44 hours to go before my return flight, nothing has changed. RN is 9 and no upgrades at all have been processed within the windows by the computer system for processing CPUs automatically.

I will give an update within 24 hours to go before my first flight.

I echo your experience. There is no GS customer service right now with the notable exception of the GS check-in at ORD. I think the boarding pass of the new system accurately reflects the new UA's approach to elite travelers....its in the smallest font on the boarding card...an afterthought. I'm dumbfounded.

I'd imagine that that would only happen if original booking class was still available on the cleared portion of the itinerary

I happened to query this when I was working with the agent to correct my (ON) segments. She went away to clarify, and came back to tell me that yes, all I needed to do was call and withdraw the GPU and it would be redeposited back into my account.

No mention was made of there needing to be the original fare class available. But, that is a good point, demkr, that I will raise the next time I call the 1K line. Thanks for drawing my attention to that question.

All I want to do is to track a flight my wife is taking from LHR to IAD

on the new bomb. So periodically I click refresh and I am automatically taken to a demand to review my profile.

Is there anyone at UA with an IQ larger than my shoe size (I have very small feet) who can reprogram the site? The old bomb at least worked on this.

Request for International Upgrades cannot be processed until after 31 March a new Bug?

[/B]UA Insider , can you please confirm this. 15 minutes ago,I called 1K desk to book an international Tix. I indicated to the agent once ticketed I would like to use my GPU since there was RN/R seat available.
I was told as of today,I will not be able to request international upgrades until after 31 March when the issue will be fixed, because both the online upgrade system & agents can see GPUs in my account, however cannot pull them.
It was Elite Houston call center Agent.
I decide not to go ahead with my booking of course.
Is this a new bug?

On Upgrade unrelated: On old United Site one could view Upgrade History. Will New United Site offer it or is that option now history?
