Currently, GE machines spit out two cards - 1) A declaration that you hand to the officer and 2) a receipt that you keep. Sounds like the new machines don't spit out #2. I'm happy to hear this. I never know what to do with that receipt. It's full of private data, so I'm hesitant to put it in a bin.

Interesting. I used GE for the first time in YYZ at the end of December, and it only printed out one document, that I gave to CBP. I didn't realize that was "new".

So the GE machines in Canada are different from the ones in the US. No US machine prints a second receipt for the user to keep.

I was only given one document when using the GE machine at YYC in October. CBP officer nearby checked the receipt against my pp, and wished me a safe trip.
I will say that I do like the addition of the "answer no to all questions" button. |

Agree, but sometimes it's unavoidable. Had to send my passport to get a visa for India earlier this month. During the only window I had, I did a quick trip to YUL. Had no problem using just NEXUS as ID in DEN, CLE or YUL, with TSA, CTSA, CBP or airline GAs.
Check in kiosk's won't read a Nexus card, and airline check in staff and GA's, even ACs in most US locations, IME, don't accept Nexus as ID for transborder flights (even if the gov't requirements allow it, the airline's don't necessarily, particularly if they can get fined by customs and forced at their expense to take the customer back). I can't remember where, it might be in a thread on a different forum, there is definitely discussion of DL in YYZ not allowing a customer to check in with Nexus only and no passport. If you had gotten a random, usually, they ask for a passport. Don't have it with you? You are most likely going to get your passport back from the Indian consulate, but not before your Nexus is taken away before you leave the airport. This was most definitely a violation of Nexus rules. Be very lucky you still have it. Really, this is avoidable. You just chose to do the quick trip to YUL. |

I've never got a second printout at any GE machine - I'm a dual US/Canadian citizen, and I'm pretty certain, the machine, for all intents and purposes, recognizes me pretty much solely as a US citizen (which would be consistent with the way US handles dual citizenship - its allowed, but not "recognized") Maybe Canadian citizens do get the second ones to keep for records. Also sounds like some are talking about different second printouts. In the case of my wife, she is Canadian, but got Nexus when she was on an H1-B. She always got a second printout, which was an I94, with a note to surrender it upon US departure (Nexus officer told her to pitch them, as she has a multi-entry I94). But never got one to keep for her records. She is now a US PR, and since then, like me, doesn't get a second printout. |
Canadian citizen. Never got a GE printout at YYZ preclearance other than the one they take.

No problem at UA DEN check in (couldn't OLCI). Used CLEAR for security. No ID needed for DEN-CLE. GA for CLE-YUL accepted it without any issue. Didn't need it at YUL as NEXUS kiosks don't require passport or card. Exited customs by showing Nexus receipt. As usual, never spoke with any customs agent. On the return, AA OLCI worked so no need to go to check-in. Nexus worked as ID to enter secure TB area and go thru priority security. CBP NEXUS kiosk worked fine and CBP agent didn't ask/care about passport, only about whether Broncos should fire their coach. AA gate agent for YUL-JFK accepted Nexus without issue. |

As a Canadian on TN, I did not get the receipt.
