Well that's ok if you're a US citizen. I suppose eventually they may allow Canadians to use GE as well.

You're late!

GE is now available to Canadians, effective Dec 15. If you have a NEXUS card, you're already in.

Heh.

Some clarity - are all the Global Entry kiosks in the US citizen section, or are there some in the Aliens section too? I know that some non-Americans (e.g. Dutch, and US resident aliens) can have Global Entry right now, so I'm not sure how it works.

The kiosks are not really in either section - at IAD and EWR they have their own queue and bypass both the US Citizen and Visitor queues...

Same as at ORD. They are kind of in the middle of the big halls. Well signposted, but often impossible to reach without undoing the windy-line-barriers. Which you do and nobody seems to mind.

One of those rare 5th freedom flights. CX also flies YVR-JFK similarly.

Ex-Canada, I'm only familiar with the two from YVR...not sure if there are others ex-Canada?

Currently, LAN does YYZ-JFK on its way to SCL. A long time ago, maybe about 10 years or so, BA also did that route on its way to Manchester. I think LY also did that route (on the way to TLV), though I think all the flights are back to nonstop again. LY also used to do LAX-YYZ-TLV, and sell the LAX-YYZ portion, but I think that is gone, too.

I believe GE is only available to Canadians with Nexus.

And on that note, another disclaimer, if you only have 2 fingerprints on file, like when I enrolled in Nexus, you need to go to a Nexus or GE center to get all done. Plus, a sticker for the back of your passport is probably wise.

What sticker?

It's a sticker CBP places on the inside back cover of your passport so you can show it to the line checker or any other person that needs to know you're going to the GE kiosk.

Some CBP agents place it on the outside of the passport. Happened to me, and a number of FTers..

Stopped in at YEG NEXUS office yesterday while picking up the in-laws. CBP had no clue when Canadians could get GE, just that they heard that they were going to be able to at some point in the future, so either they are not informed properly or it isn't implemented yet. Might try asking again next week when I am back at the airport.

The Canadians are definitely not informed, even in the Nexus office. At least that was my interpretation. They had no idea what i was talking about when I asked if I could make an appointment to get my fingerprints done for GE. They did say that I could come in and the Americans in the office would do it, no appointment necessary, since I already have my card and they handle fingerprinting. Was trying to get there yesterday or this morning, but couldn't make it. Leaving back for the States on Sunday, so won't get it done this time.

I will be at ORD next week, and SFO in Jan, so will just take care of the fingerprints and whatever else needs to be done while at one of those stations.

GE has nothing to do with Canada, hence this is not an issue of their being misinformed.
