GE is now available to Canadians, effective Dec 15. If you have a NEXUS card, you're already in.

Apparently I am late....!

Woo Hoo!

This is a great Christmas gift!

I second that. Nice!

The GOES enrolment website confirms this when I log in:

As a NEXUS member, you can now use the Global Entry kiosks located at the top 20 major U.S. international airports to enter the U.S. To use the Global Entry kiosks, you must use a valid machine readable passport. Do not use your NEXUS card in the kiosk, but you may wish to carry it with you. There is no additional cost to use Global Entry, and you may use it for the duration of your NEXUS membership. Additional information about Global Entry can be found at http://www.GlobalEntry.gov/. If you do not wish to use Global Entry kiosks, please disregard this message.

Again, read the rest of the thread; GE has been expended to include Canadian Nexus members, but that message is still being rolled out so not all CBP officers are aware of it.

"What is Global Entry?
Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program "

I think is what the OP was trying to say. It obviously has something to do with Canada (or at least Canadians) but not with Government of Canada so there is no reason for our officers in Canada to know much about it (although that would be a nice thing if they did).

Actually, the officers staffing the Nexus offices in Canada should know about it. The message suggests, at least mine does, to make an appointment with either a Nexus or GE center to ensure all of my fingerprints are scanned for this to work (I only had one taken from each hand when I got my nexus card in about '07). The Canadians are the front lines of the Nexus offices, both in answering the phones and when you walk in. They should know at least the very basics, and to tell me the correct procedure for me to make this appointment.

If anyone is interested in knowing, the YYZ office told me that since I have my Nexus card already, I could just walk in, and they would have the US staff in the office take my prints.

Do the US CBP guys at YYZ have the aforementioned stickers?

I was told on the phone that the CBP officers at the Canadian airport Nexus locations should have the stickers. Haven't been by YYC while they are open though so I can't comment on experience.

That's awesome news! I'll inquire about the GE sticker on the 28th before I leave YYZ-LGA.

Also inquire as to what to do if the machines are down.. The instructions given to US GE members are to go to the front of any us citizens line and flash the sticker and the agent should take you next..curious if that's the procedure for canadians, too... (also not supposed to wait in any lines at customs hall exit).

I have a Nexus card but I use a UK passport, anyone know if that will cause any problems with Global Entry? I hate that as a Brit I have to go inside to get a visa when I cross the US land border (often 45mins + processing time) but can just walk through at the airport. If I can just walk through and avoid the lines using GE then that is an awesome Christmas present.

It's a sticker CBP places on the inside back cover of your passport so you can show it to the line checker or any other person that needs to know you're going to the GE kiosk.

Is this a Canadian thing? I have been using GE for a year now and never needed a sticker.

You'll need one if the machines are down and you want to jump the line..

I just hop to another machine (or at least I did at JFK). However, I landed at LAX from AKL the other day, and there was only one machine, so I see your point. Where does one get this sticker.

Any Global Entry enrollment center (no appointment needed, they just look up your passport to confirm you're enrolled)...and.. pending confirmation per this thread....any NEXUS (air?) office.

Tried to hit the Nexus office today in YOW on my way out overseas. It is closed for the holidays until Wednesday.
