shuuy according to the CBSA website (https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/prog/nexus/notice-avis-eng.html):
You may now qualify for NEXUS membership The Beyond the Border Action Plan announced by Prime Minister Harper and President Obama on December 7, 2011 committed to increased benefits to the NEXUS program. As part of this commitment, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has lifted the three-year residency requirement for the NEXUS Program. Effective June 30, 2012, Canadian and American citizens living outside of Canada or the United States or who have recently returned to either country and have not previously been able to meet the three-year residency requirement are now eligible to apply. In addition, certain permanent residents are also exempted from the three-year residency requirement. However, permanent residents who do not fall within an exempted group are reminded that the three-year residency requirement still applies. The eligibility requirements are set out in the Presentation of Persons (2003) Regulations at paragraph 6.1(a) (which in turn refers to 'the requirements set out in paragraphs 5(1)(a) to (f), subject to subsection 5(2)'). The effect of subsection 5(2) is that a Canadian / US citizen is not required to have resided in Canada / the US during the 3-year period preceding the application date. |
I couldn't find this answered elsewhere, so I'll ask here: Is it possble to use the NEXUS security lines at YYZ with a different passport than my Canadian one?
The context here is that im a recent dual Canadian-British citizen (living in the UK) and generally would travel to the UK on my UK passport, but my NEXUS is, of course, attached to my Canadian passport (although they do have my UK info as of my latest renewal, which is pending), and am flying YYZ-LHR. As far as I know the UK does not require citizens to fly on their UK passport to the UK, but I certanly would prefer to. So I'm not sure which I should do, as I have a few options:

if you put the Brit passport on the AC file, you will need an ETA to re-enter Canada. I learned the hard way. It took almost one hour for the AC agent to get me checked in for the return. I was told I could call in and have the passport changed to the Canadian info before the return flight. Didn’t seem worthwhile, especially not now when getting a CSA is so difficult. |

I have been in this exact situation. Once Canada introduced the ETA it became necessary to input the Canadian passport info to the AC file. No issues using Nexus security line exiting Canada. No issues using Brit passport to enter the UK/E gates on arrival at Heathrow.

Finally was able to get an appointment for Nexus interview at the Niagara Falls Enrollment Center.
Here's perhaps a different kind of question -- Will I be allowed to keep my mask on for the duration of the interview? I assume there are no more masking requirements anywhere in the US, which is fine. I don't expect others to wear a mask. But I am immunocompromised and will need to continue protecting myself with an N95 mask for the foreseeable future. I imagine it'll be just like at the airport or land border where they just ask you to bring down your mask for a couple of seconds for them to check against your passport, and then I can proceed to interview while masked? Please let me know what to expect, or if you've had a similar experience. |

Hello Forum members,
I'm an Indian citizen with Candian PR & US H1-B. I'm currently residing in US and plan to move back to Canada in December. I got my Conditional Approval today and would like to schedule the interview. Do I need to be in Canada in order to be eligible to apply for the Nexus card? Please let me know. |

Sorry for the late reply to this for those who were wondering, but I actually did get my card delivered on the same day I left for Europe! I'm in Iceland and haven't had a chance to check this thread until now.
The card arrived in my mailbox sometime in the afternoon and I headed to the airport with it around 6:00pm. The card was extremely helpful for getting through security at Pearson as the regular lines were huge but the Nexus line only had about 10 people in it. I was able to show my card and my two friends that I'm travelling with were allowed to use the Nexus line with me even though they don't have cards. Needless to say they were very impressed and are planning to apply for their own cards as soon as they get back. So to give specifics, my interview took place at the Niagara Falls, New York Enrollment Center during the afternoon of Wednesday, April 20. The card arrived to my home in Toronto on Monday, May 2. The return address indicated the card was mailed from Washington, DC. The card was sent via regular post and wasn't registered. Hope this helps! |

Hi, was the return address by any chance 1300 Pennsylvania Ave, NW 2.4D, Suite 2.5 A Washington DC 20229? I was notified that I've received a USPS letter at a mail forwarding provider I'm using because I'm abroad, and that's the information I got. I'm expecting my renewal card, after waiting for two years.

Yes, I still have the paperwork and that's the exact return address that was on the envelope my Nexus card came in.
Some of my paperwork has expired in the meantime, can I just drop in to an enrollment center in the USA to update visa info's, etc, without appointment? I'm thinking of the one in Blaine. |

Thanks for that! I've booked a roundtrip from LHR to SEA for next week to pick it up. I just got back from the USA yesterday as well, but didn't find out about the card being delivered until after I left. I'd forgotten I used that address two years ago. Unfortunately the company doesn't forward.
