Did Amex actually previously reimburse? I know we charged the last one to VentureX in July 2022 and they didn't reimburse either. My understanding is reports had said Amex was not doing it, which is why we tried on the Cap1 card.

Earlier Nexus was $50 and Precheck was $85 and GE $100. So their system was set to up see if anything from Trusted Traveler charged $100 or from TSA $85, it would trigger the credit. Even though Nexus was cheaper it wasn’t covered by most if not all cards in the US. Now that it’s a harmonized fee as of Oct 2024 they likely don’t look beyond the charger and the amount.

Using Nexus while applying for a status

Hi,

Does anyone know if you are permitted to use the Nexus lanes at Canadian airport preclearance if you are going to be applying for a status (like J-1 or TN)? The plan would be to use the lane, but not use the kiosk and instead report to the officer to ask to go to secondary to apply for the status.

I would be shocked if the CBSA staff let you do this via the NEXUS line if you don't have NEXUS and aren't planning to use the kiosk. Can't you just use the regular line and attempt to do the same thing?

Oh I do have Nexus, sorry for the confusion.
