Does the Detroit location have free parking on site, or will I have to pay and/or park off site at a nearby lot. Looks like it's downtown. Interview is next saturday I was surprised at all the empty time slots they had.
Notably, you do have to take Exit 192B, Bridge to Canada/No Re-Entry To USA and stay on the left, it is a double lane exit. When exiting, you're with the semi trucks that entered the US and get right back on the interstate. |

It's inside the Fort Street Cargo Facility, see https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trusted-travelers/1979574-how-get-detroit-nexus-enrollment-center-us-side.html for directions.

Finally got my nexus card renewed, after 2 long years haha!
the renewal has been conditionally approved since Jul 2023. I never got a chance to set up an appointment, so I was surprised to get a notification that it has been approved! |
I'm a Canadian citizen and I was flying back through Pearson connecting on to a Canada flight. I used the Nexus machines but when I got to the agent, he said I had to go see a different agent to get verified. (this was still at primary inspection). When I spoke to the second agent, they asked me for my Nexus card, where I was travelling from, where my final destination was and if my final destination was where I lived. Once I answered these questions I was waved through. Does anyone know if this is just a random check?

Did you do the advance declaration thru Arrive Can? Asking as a data point. Since you were not sent to secondary it sounds like a somewhat more detailed first inspection. As to randomness, who knows? Since I’ve used Arrive Can, I’ve been waived thru even when I declared food. A welcome change. |

No I didn't use ArriveCan as I didn't think that worked with Nexus terminals.
I take whichever queue is shortest. |

Just to be clear, Amex (and maybe other) credits don't cover NEXUS, only GE.

That used to be the case when GE cost $100 and NEXUS cost $50. Now that they’re both $120, and—I think—show the same on the CC statement (“USCUSTOMS TRUSTEDTRAVELER”), can they tell the difference?

That's an interesting point, although they still explicitly say that NEXUS isn't covered. Mine isn't due for renewal, so I won't be able to test this for the group for a while. Hopefully, by the time I renew, they will have changed the policy.

https://global.americanexpress.com/c...entry/platinum I also got this answer from Amex Customer Service but I can't renew my Nexus until 2028: Yes, the NEXUS application fee is eligible for the new fee structure announced by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. |
IIRC Amex als:p reimbursed it when NEXUS was $50.

Did Amex actually previously reimburse? I know we charged the last one to VentureX in July 2022 and they didn't reimburse either. My understanding is reports had said Amex was not doing it, which is why we tried on the Cap1 card. |
