Applying for Family
Sorry I could not find this info anywhere.
Long time Nexus holder - I would like to apply for my wife and minor kids. I see no place to apply for kids in my dashboard, and when I start a completely new application process it is rejected because my email is already associated with an account. How do you apply for family members? |

How do you apply for family members? If you use Gmail, it is quite simple; just use the Gmail + trick. |

You will have to use a separate email address for each family member for whom you are applying for NEXUS.

Thanks. And if I do not use Gmail, is there any way to get the emails myself?

I set up email accounts for my kids when they were younger specifically for Nexus. I transferred the accounts to them at the appropriate age for their own use. That gmail+ trick is wild! |

Unfortunately no. Each Nexus user needs their own unique email address.

you can also add periods anywhere in the email address for gmail and it’ll all go to one address. Eg name@gmail and n.ame@gmail are each valid addresses (not all systems accept the +, all will accept periods) and go to one inbox.

The Nexus system will recognize those as different emails? I knew about the period trick, but didn't think a system would consider them different. Very cool.

Hello, I am new here (my first post) and I tried searching this topic and this section of the forum for this but did not find anything. I will admit i did. mit Read all 655 Posts But i did. Read tge sticky topic on Nexus so hopefully i am in the tight area for this.
I just received my Nexus card this year and I activated it PRR instructions but have not used it yet. I had TSA Known traveler number that I used when flying for TSA PreCheck. Just to be clear, I should now be using the PASSID number off the rear of the Nexus card for the known traveler number now to access PreCheck? Also it is my understanding that Nexus give access to Globel Entry when returning from Europe? Worry for the dumb questions but I was not expecting to be taking a trip to Europe when I went and applied for Nexus, my plans for trace were to visit Canada more frequently and I thought I was dont going to Europe, so I never truly considered how this all works together. Note I did not and never have had Global entry. I Just had the simple Known Travel Number. If it matter I will be flying out of and returning back to Detroit so will clear TSA on my way out in Detroit and clear boarder control and customs in Detroit on my way home. this will be in the “North Terminal” or the “Evans Terminal” if it matters. Thank you for any information on this. |

NEXUS includes all Global Entry benefits, so you can use the GE kiosks or GE app when returning to the US from abroad. As to which KTN or PASSID to use, please refer to the following thread. |

At an airport, the kiosks now simply take a photo, and assuming it can match your photo, will tell you to continue through process. |
Curious about your thoughts for a Nexus renewal:
September 2024 - I can renew today for $50 October 2024 - I can renew for $120 I have a US AMEX Platinum with a Global Entry or TSA Precheck fee reimbursement (note presently only Chase USA reimburses Nexus) Thinking; I wait until October and the $120 comes over and AMEX reimburses as they can't tell the difference between GE and Nexus. |

The only for sure option is to use (first apply for and receive, if needed) one of the Chase cards with reimbursements, as they specifically include Nexus (even the updated statements about increasing the reimbursements don’t seem to specify Nexus). I’ve actually been miffed at why Nexus was never included, as until next month, it’s half the cost, billed through the same merchant and seemingly not much of a downside. I’d certainly like to know what happens, as wife and I both have Nexus renewals, so even with the Chase reimbursement, and an Amex plat, can only get one each renewal cycle. |
