Did they provide a temp NEXUS pass before receiving the official card? Wonder if I can have a temp pass to use right after the interview.

AFAIK, there isn't a temporary pass option. I believe that we need to wait for the actual NEXUS card. I think we might be able to use Global Entry since it's tied to our passport but I could be wrong.
Usually, the officer just asks if you have anything to declare. |
Just pointing out that with the rollout of Canada’s “Verified Traveller” program starting June 20, Nexus cardholders have been downgraded and can no longer universally bring any co-traveller through the Canadian CATSA lines with them.
I know some might be happy to hear this, but it was a big reason I signed up for Nexus in the first place so I’ll submitting my complaints to several parties. Just had that experience yesterday (June 23rd) at Toronto Pearson Terminal 1 D gates (where they arbitrarily closed our E gate for ??? reasons and did a bad job of shuffling pax over) Exceptions are flights to USA (dunno why), front-of-the-line access and those 17 or under or 75 and over. Co-travellers who are 17 years of age and under or 75 years of age and older can access CATSA’s Verified Traveller screening lines when travelling with a verified traveller on the same flight. There are no age restrictions to co-travellers accessing Verified Traveller lines at Transborder checkpoints (flights to the U.S.) or checkpoints offering front-of-the-line service. |

Please may I ask for advice. Thanks for all help in advance - I hope this is the right place to put this.
I have lost my driver's licence. I am the holder of a NEXUS card. I have an open application (conditionally approved, which I think is automatic) for an APEC card. I have not yet gone in for the APEC interview. Is it possible for me to update the details of my new driver's licence online without going into a CBP/CBSA office in-person? I would guess yes however the website warns about open applications impeding this? Also, will this create issues around my NEXUS card staying valid - am I allowed to use it now the underlying licence is nonexistent? Sorry to be so confused - the regulations are difficult to interpret. |

When you go for your interview ask them to update it there. |
Hello,
I am Nexus card holder with Canadian PR so I don't have pre check, I am not able to use pre check lines. However, are there global entry machines at the departure security lines that I can use it with my nexus card? Or I should go to regular security lines at the USA airport departures? Another thing is, ttp website says Nexus card is only valid at the global entry kiosks in USA pre-clearance areas in the Canadian airports, for other locations, I should scan my passport. Does machine identify our memberships using passport without Nexus card? Because I am Canadian Refugee Travel Document holder and I am not allowed to use my national passport which is listed as citizenship proof on my Nexus file, and my TTP accounts shows passport information of my national passport. I called CBSA enrolment center that why my blue Refugee Travel Document is now showing up on my profile, they told me that I can see it is listed as other document and you can use your Nexus. I am not sure if I should go to the enrolment center to verify this. |

When traveling to the US, most locations, if not all by now, kiosks have been changed to the new one which don't use any documentation at all - it takes a photo to verify your eligibility, and you don't even answer questions anymore - you either get a paper receipt to show the office ahead, or some I think are paperless, where you just see the officer. This is definitely the case at YYZ and YVR pre-clearance, and I suspect at most others, though I don't have personal experience. If it can't verify you by photo, it tells you to go see the officer, who can manually clear you. Last time this happened, it was at YYZ and the kiosks properly cleared myself, wife and 8yo, but didn't recognize my 4yo (I'd guess it matches by passport photo, and it makes sense that it can't recognize her 4yo face compared to her 3 week old face on her:)). The GE officer cleared the three of us, then we were directed to the [empty] MPC line, where the officer in the next booth processed our 4yo in about 15 seconds, and we were on our way. As for documentation, may very well want to at least call the info. line to verify what is on file. If you go into your NEXUS profile, there is a section that is headlined something like 'documents for US entry' and 'documents for Canadian entry.' If the right ones aren't showing up, you'll probably have to go into an office to get that sorted - US if it is for the US side. While you can 'update' current documents, at least for the US side, you can't add a new one. So changing your Canadian passport number and expiry date will work (when you get a new one), but not adding a new passport if it's not already on file. |

Most likely your boarding pass will show TSA PreCheck. If it does, then you can use TSA PreCheck line in the U.S. TSA PreCheck privilege is part of NEXUS/Global Entry privileges.
