A couple of information nuggets: I entered at MIA a couple of days ago. No trouble entering, but I stopped by the enrollment office for a document update because my profile still incorrectly listed my green card, and because I have renewed my driver license.

1) The officer removed my green card. This is NOT automatic when you become a citizen, so it's advisable to ask for it to be removed manually. (The green card becomes void when you become a US citizen, and the physical card has to be handed in at the citizenship ceremony.)

2) The officer declined to enter my new driver license. She said they only use the driver license to verify your residential address at the time of initial application or renewal

I don't know how much either matters, but I imagine it could cause some confusion, for example, if the systems register an entry as a permanent resident after you've become a citizen.

Hey Folks, newbie here. Just applied for NEXUS and currently waiting for conditional approval. Wish I had known about this forum before applying and chose which one to apply for accodringly.

Quick question and my apologies if it has been asked before. Since my application is 'pending review', can I somehow withdraw it and apply for GE instead? I am fine with them not refunding the application fee if that what it takes.

techlambo I would call the first enrollment center that answers the phone. Or, the 1-800-842-7647 number on the CBSA side (sorry, can't post links)

It does sound like they can convert it from NEXUS to GE once you get your conditional approval, but I'd still call them and check (search for CBP Article-1759)

This, of course, assuming you have an urgent need, and you're sure the US side of the application is not the bottleneck.

Well, my 6 year old's first time application for Nexus (got conditional approval) has a "Change to Global Entry" button - so I guess that still works!

In the process of filling out my NEXUS application- they ask for an employer's phone number. Do they actually contact your employer? Just curious!

Probably not in most cases. I suspect it might be called if they feel they have some reason to need to verify information on your application.

Just flew into YUL. First one off only to find them holding travelers at the upper level to avoid crowding into immigration hall but I was let thru after flashing NEXUS card. Everybody else behind me were held up. I'm guessing none of them were NEXUS. After kiosk, CBSA officer asked for passport for a photo check and to put a sticker on it. I'm guessing this will either enable you to exit without further delay or be directed for a post-arrival COVID test.

My card expired in Dec 2019. Conditionally Approved but zero interviews. Flying YYZ to LAX on Friday. Anyone in the same boat as me and was able to use their Nexus card?

Just applied for NEXUS for a US LPR who has had Global Entry for the past three years (most LPRs need to have resided in the US/Canada for three years before being eligible for NEXUS, while US LPRs are eligible for Global Entry immediately upon being granted permanent resident status). Applied using their existing TTP account like a fresh application. There was no 'Change to NEXUS' option under the Global Entry info, nor did it ask anywhere on the application for the existing Global Entry card number or PASS ID. I hope that they can link the application to the PASS ID and see that the applicant already has Global Entry/Precheck/etc and thus is already classified as low risk by the US, though not by Canada as yet officially.

KTN should stay the same. I wouldn’t worry about being classified low risk due to GE as the bottleneck is getting an interview.

That's true. My hope was more along the lines of being able to 'expedite' the approval as the info is already in the system, everything was the same except for an added job. This field (perhaps prefilled) would be good for people, like military, who already have pass IDs but may not have a ttp account already.

Some info others may find useful. I've now completed my first trip with a NEXUS card now expired for more than 2 years. My previous trip was the day before the post-2 year mark and everything was normal.

I entered the US using the GE kiosks at LAX and the machine told me to see agent immediately. The agent told me my GE was expired, asked me to update my photo, and waved me through.
I entered Canada using the NEXUS kiosks at YYC and nothing was out of the ordinary. Sometime last year these kiosks updated my photo.
I took 2 TSA Pre-Check eligible flights with different airlines while in the US but did not receive PRECHEK on either of the boarding passes.

I am wondering if the experience would be the same at the land border. That would be my concern.

I'm applying for first time.
There is a question: "Have you traveled to countries other than the United States, Canada, and Mexico since ....?

I'm supposed to indicate also countries where I just had a stopover?

Thanks
