Has anyone flown to the US from Canada and back with an expired NEXUS card while waiting for an interview? I know that we have a 730 day grace period after the date of our renewal application but will the various NEXUS and Global Entry kiosks take that into account?

Thanks! Managed to book a renewal at the Niagara Falls location on a Friday afternoon. While I would prefer to do it at an airport location, this is much preferred to waiting another several months.

Bonus is free parking at the Whirlpool Bridge location. Road to access the office is not in great shape, unless there’s been work done in the last few months.

Suggestions to solve this issue: presently have a NEXUS card. I want to change from a NEXUS to Global Entry. When I log in to my account on the trusted traveler site, the Global Entry application link it not clickable.

Not online. Just go to a Nexus office (appt not needed, at least in the before times). They update while you wait. I’ve never spent more than 5 min on this.

fyi, first time I did it, a sticker was put in my passport. Didn’t happen with any other times (renewals).

If you're Canadian citizen can you book your interview in the US offices?

It certainly was possible in the past at the Whirlpool Bridge because I’ve done it. I’ve also used them to update my profile when necessary. You could try booking thru the app. My assumption is if not eligible, you would be able to proceed.

Over the course of my membership, I’ve used 4 Nexus’ offices. They were all staffed by Canadian and US officers. At my second last renewal they sat together during my “interview”. Not the case in the first interview (enrolment). Last time, no interview, automatic renewal.

Since Nexus includes every single benefit of Global Entry, there is no need to change before your current Nexus membership becomes eligible for renewal.

Thanks! I tried and it confirmed my appointment for Whirlpool.

With the upcoming PCR changes for less than 72 hours and Canadian offices still closed, decided to book an appointment to be on safe side if Canada offices don't open soon.

Yes before all this started in February 20 20 I had an appointment in Blaine Washington and in March Blaine Washington was shut down. Then after that for the next approximately 3 to 4 months I had appointments set up for Richmond British Columbia. And they kept getting postponed and told me to reschedule another month out and then I think come that summer of 2020 is when all the Canadian office is shut down

In order to update information for my nexus, I can walk into any Enrollment centre in US ? I can't find the option to book an appointment online

Got an email update from NEXUS where, among the enrollment center reopenings, they mentioned new "e-Gates" at Toronto airport. Anyone know how these e-gates are different than the existing NEXUS kiosks at Canadian airports currently?

I got the same email. In another thread (AC/Aeroplan) someone mentioned seeing new gates being constructed. I’m also curious as to how it will work — hopefully better than the old machines which broke often. I use E-gates in the UK. Very fast, etc. However, while they “watch” pax doing e-gates, I’ve never had to speak with anyone.

For the last few years (pre-Covid), I’ve always had to show my receipt to someone (and answer questions) prior to leaving the customs hall. I’ve seen them yell at people who tried to by-pass the officer.

I used Nexus machine coming home to Canada from the EU with no issues on expired Nexus (pending interview for renewal). Mid-Oct timeframe.

Is it possible / an issue to drive with just her Nexus given that her passport is expired?

I've seen conflicting answers, with some swearing that it is fine while others pointing out that it could be grounds for suspension.

For what it's worth, I called Canada Border Services Agency and they said it's not a problem.
