Update: decided to move up my interview to yesterday (12/15/2015) at Champlain, NY.

US Agent: asked me only one question. Why do you want Nexus?

Canada Agent: asked me two questions. Why do you want Nexus? Have you ever been arrested?

It took 10 minutes total and I was approved. Only thing left was the Iris scan. For that, I just had to drive a little bit north to the Canadian side to get that done.

I am very much satisfied with the process. Total time from application to approval 25 days.

Smile Processing Time

Applied: 12/7/15

Conditional Approval: 12/17/15

Interview: 12/21/15 8:45am (Detroit Enrollment Center - Originally scheduled for 1/9/16 and checked back and found an opening on the website for 12/21/15)
Arrived at 8:30am, interviewed at 8:36am.

Questions asked: (CBP only) What is your full name? What is your address? Why do you want a Nexus Card? You've never been arrested or denied entry, right? Any problems entering the US? Any problems entering Canada?

Approval: 12/17/15 - 8:36am via e-mail

It was pretty simple. I was expecting to get interviewed by CBSA. Looking forward to receiving my Nexus Card in the next 7-10 days. Now I have to get my wife and mom enrolled too...

Total time from application to approval 14days

Received NEXUS card 12/26

Total time from application to receiving card 19 days

Whoa.. Now you got me wondering how quickly my son's application will be approved. Thought for sure I'd be waiting well in to February or March, but maybe it will be sooner!

Edit: If only I could remember what day I actually applied. Doesn't seem to say on GOES and I can't recall :/

If you paid by credit card that'll let you know when you applied

Ah smart thinking!

Sadly (or maybe not, really) it's for a child so while it was free, there is no credit card trail

I looked at my browser history though and it looks like I might have done it on the 16th.

Thanks for the idea!

If that's the case then assuming the processing time is the same as mine (8 days) you should get a response next Wednesday 12/30 (taking into account 12/24 and 12/25 closed)

A bit delayed, but a point of reference:

Applied: 7/23
Conditional Approval: 9/3
Appointment available in Warroad almost immediately, a couple weeks out at Winnipeg.
Interviewed on 11/13, received email notification of approval either just before or as I was talking with the Canadian border patrol agents (did the interview with the US agents at the US CBP area, interview with the Canadian agents outside at their border patrol station.)

You were very close! Conditional approval came today (12/29). Now comes the fun part of trying to schedule an interview that is late enough in the day that I can drive home, pick up my son, and drive all the way back out to the airport :P

How do you know if you got conditional approval if you did the paper application? Will they mail you back letting you know or email you?

Looks like they were working on the 24th. My wife and mom applied 12/21. Looks like they'll get their conditional approval in the new year 1/4.

Anyone have experience with adding a Nexus card when you have a Canadian work permit? (US citizen). I already have my Global Entry but I will be traveling to Edmonton several times over the next year for work. I applied for the additional Nexus card last week and am still waiting for conditional approval. Are there any issues of having them note your work permit on the Nexus card so I can use the kiosks when I enter the country?

Appointment booked for tomorrow Jan. 12th. at YHZ, and that was the only appointment available there between now and the 29th.
How did everything go today?
