The timestamp on the pdf that I saved of my wife's GE renewal application submission was 8:54pm on 1/21, The approval confirmation on her account is dated 1/23.

I applied and have renewed 3 times, wife and two kids have applied and renewed twice each, and none of us has required an interview after the initial application. And they processed all three at my wife's initial appointment time, so only 2 appointments total.

Do we get a new physical card on every renewal?

Yes, a new card will be sent upon approval of the renewal.

My youngest's was approved today in just about 24 hours. I applied exactly a year before the current one expires, so it's good until 2031.

Yes, I keep my old, expired cards and just checked them. My current card still has my 2008 photo and my youngest, now a college junior, has her photo from age 11. I assume this new one, good until she turns 27, will still have the same.

The number is unchanged. And they've sat in my safe unused about the entire time. You only need the physical card if traveling by land.

For no interview approved GE renewals, do you have to request a new card or is it automatically mailed?

Let my GE expire in November. Just applied to renew on the 4th and got approval without interview on the 6th. This is with 2 address changes (different states) and a job change including a year of unemployment in the mix.

To close the loop and answer an above question, MsCP's card arrived in the mail today, automatically, 15 days after approval.

Youngest daughter's card also arrived 15 days after approval. And yes, her age 11 photo will still be on the card when it expires as she turns 27. I almost want to plan a trip to Niagara Falls in early 2031 to see how that border crossing goes.

Any thoughts on how to proceed when the new card has not arrived after 4 months? Renewed in early October, 1 day after becoming eligible/364 days before expiration, approved within a couple of days, but so far no new card. Stopped by the IAD enrollment-upon-departure facility the other day and asked, but they had no idea. Thanks!

Reach out to the GE help desk via https://www.help.cbp.gov/s/questions?language=en_US . From trouble reports here on FT, there was a week or two period of time last fall where approved applications' GE cards were never sent for printing. The GE help desk will be able to resend the card print request.

GE Renewal Timeline

First renewal
Address change (same state), 6 new countries visited (all Schengen, and actually forgot one)
Passport had been renewed, but I had already updated that info on my profile when that happened last year.
Renewed fairly early after I became eligible to renew. ~ 300 days before expiration, because who knows what this process will look like in 2026? Also traveling in a few months, so if I needed an interview was planning to do it at the airport.

Feb 1 submitted renewal request
Feb 3 approved, no interview
Feb 10 new card received

MrsWLV Feb 19, 2025 11:06 am

Submitted 3 renewals - 2 adults, 1 child (free 🎉) afternoon 2/17, received approval early AM 2/19 for all 3. No interviews required.
